Oops! RNC Isn’t Quite Up To Speed With GOP’s Latest Culture War | Talking Points Memo

Nothing new. The NRA doesn’t allow outside weapons to be brought into its headquarters.

I don’t know about the American experience vis a vis so called passports but in Ontario we had cards that were stamped for the various shots we received in public school. My parents had a booklets with all their shots; prerequisites for immigrating to Canada in the 50’s. My partners mother had TB when she entered; was quarantined and carried proof that she was cured.

All normal practices to document and monitor health and to provide assurances to schools, employers etc.

So wtf? I know. They’re asshat Repubs who don’t give a shit except for their own kind. DeSantes is a prime example; giving priority for vaccines to his associates. Ducking hypocrite.

On a positive note, I’m booked for my dose of microchips on Thursday. I’m an Apple user so I’m hoping my arm will be compatible with my devices later.

Such are the times we live in. The same question could be asked of the four years of the previous administration. It felt like a script by Mel Brooks.

If it had ended in something like the final act of Blazing Saddles, we would have had our definitive answer. Though, I have to say, Rudy’s contribution puts me into the parody column.

Pfizer has the Gates chip, so probably want to avoid that one.

AstraZenica has been pushing the apple chip, but it keeps crashing people.

Most likely due to lack of third-party support and a closed, proprietary system.

OT - Baby steps, but steps nonetheless:

A bill requiring gun owners to report lost or stolen firearms to authorities within a five-day window passed the Colorado House on Monday (the Senate passed the bill last month). The first failure to report a lost or stolen gun would be a civil infraction that’s punishable by a $25 fine. Other offenses would be Class 3 misdemeanors punishable by a maximum of $500.

Another bill that would require the safe storage of firearms passed the Colorado House last month and is now in the hands of the Senate.

Truthfully I’m not sure which one I’m getting. Just hope my music software key commands don’t change. I use Logic Pro; Apple.

Speaking of the NRA, did you see this?

They are catchy made up issues to rally the troops behind. The reality is it is already there. Do you know we have to have valid ID to operate a motor vehicle here? Amazing.

We were required to show proof of vaccination when I went to school. I have to show ID to buy smokes. I have to have a boarding pass and ID to enter a flight. I have to show proof of identity as well as insurance when going to the doctor. You can’t enter a military base without proper identification. To use the local household hazmat drop off facility, you need ID and a recent utilities billing stub. If you are fishing, a warden can ask for ID and Fishing License. Write a check, ID required. And so on and so on and so on. But they have to get the issue into inflamed status before their rubes comes to the same conclusions. So they fan those flames quickly.

This is in the same category as the NRA not allowing anyone to bring a weapon to their own convention.

Republican National Committee, organization is thy name.

The next step in securing the safety of our students? Issue each of them a massive yacht with three crew members and a cook.

I found my little booklet with all the childhood shots I received. It reminded me of the passbook or savings book we used to get from the bank.

This almost makes me want to fund a bus load full of Trump’s base to the conference. Seems like a good place for an insurrection.

Next thing you know, they’ll be insisting on masks and social distancing. Give them a mile…

I think it’s kind of Trumpy that biggest donor event for the RNC is the Spring retreat, and the RNC has to pay Trump to use Mar-A-Lago for the dinner. In The Daily Mail article it mentioned the Secret Service. So now I’m wondering if, or when Trump gets invited to speak, part of the negotiations is that he’s going to charge the organization a security fee for the USSS to accompany him to the event? Even though the US tax payers are paying for the former guy’s security detail. I wonder if he’s set one price for off property, vs another price for on property?
I realize that it hasn’t even been 100 days since former guy left DC, but has he been off property yet?
