The (very tiny) gauntlet is thrown.

Every time I see DeWines face I see the face and and hear the voice of the guy talking about Trumps Oval Office speech the night before and how great it was.
Things have sure went downhill since then and his support for Trump.

I think he better pick it up.

No he wouldn’t. He hired an exceptional director of public health, Dr. Amy Acton and he’s listening to her. She’s fantastic. I don’t agree with his politics, but he’s a policy driven politician and he’ll do what he believes is right.

And yet I’m sure I read an article last week stating that the genome of most of the infections in NYC came from Europe. As I’ve stated before, I begin to question the Orange Menace stating that his name is “Donald J. Trump.” Everything else coming out of his fat mouth is a lie, why not that too?

I can live with a bit of assholery, but stupidity kills…

What is DeWine publically saying about Climate Change? I know that Ohio has relied on the Utica shale for some measue of economic growth. I figure that he is walking a fine line in any event on the matter…

Silly me. I thought the GOP believed that the Federal government is strictly limited to the powers explicitly granted in Article I and that all other powers are reserved to the states. I’m glad we have president Trump to disabuse me of my political ignorance.

DeWine and the other governors need to begin telling the People and the Moron in the White House that the economy cannot be re-opened until there is massive testing available, so that people can go forth confident that the carriers are being treated and isolated from them. But at least DeWine said the first part of the equation, that this is not a question of moving a magic switch of some sort. Which, when you think of it, is pretty incredible that a President is actually saying. A lying delusional President in cognitive decline. But still.

Not so fast:

“Churches are exempted from Ohio’s statewide stay-at home order that bans mass gatherings during the coronavirus pandemic, and some churchgoers are defiantly continuing to attend services…”

Even when they’re trying to act sane, elected Republicans are still crazy!

DeWine comes to an agonizing decision about the well-being of his state:

He doesn’t believe he has the constitutional right to limit services by order, however, he’s called them out repeatedly on tv as basically being stupid. He said that he knows of know religion that allows you to harm your neighbor. Stay home.

And yet, he never let that get in the way of denying a woman’s Constitutional right to choose.

Here’s a big issue that few are talking about. Let’s say you own a business and you re-open without any screenings of employees and customers. And let’s say someone in your establishment gets infected and goes on to be the key node in an infectious web that involves 50 people, several of whom die. What do you think your liability might be? One MILLION dollars wouldn’t even scratch the surface. So if it were my business, as badly as I might want to open, I would be very, very cautious, no matter what ANY politician says.
