Obama Unveils New Education Campaign On Redistricting Issues | Talking Points Memo

One side wants to play fair. One side wants to cheat. Can you guess which is which without a score card?

Obama realizes this is the worm on which everything turns. If we get our side to vote, we’ll keep the House and turn the Senate and Executive Branch, and then, slowly but surely, bring the Federal Courts back from the brink. Which is why Republicans continue their anti-democratic agenda if denying people their guaranteed right to vote on spurious grounds.

Obama ran for Congress against Bobby Rush and lost. He ran for Senate as a State Senator so obviously he gerrymandered the whole State of Illinois so he could win.

It’s no wonder the Jesuits kicked Walker out of Marquette; he is way to stupid to hand even a Certificate of Attendance to.

Scott Walker is the son of a Baptist minister as well as being a corrupt, self-righteous asshole.

That’s the face of a man who realizes that socialist Justin Trudeau could take his wife or his other significant other, Ivanka, anytime he wants. Except he just doesn’t care to.

This sounds like a great idea and I’m very pleased to see President Obama getting personally involved. It must be awful to see such a dreadful man take over the job and drive the nation into the ground while relying on systematic gerrymandering, disenfranchisement, and voter suppression of all types. Obama is a great motivator and I hope to see him active in this job.

Ooops. I got State Senator “gerrymander” wrong. My bad.

Just don’t let it happen again.

Actually, the more I think about it, the more I realize that the GOP’s reaction to this (“Dem power grab”) basically provides a perfect microcosmic example of their overall white Christian nationalist temper tantrum. Here we have a situation in which the GOP has used gerrymandered to provide a grossly unfair advantage to themselves, and EVERYBODY FUCKING KNOWS IT (including themselves)…so much so that they are sometimes able to maintain a minority-rules situation despite losing elections by millions of votes, and yet, any attempt to undo that, just to make it fair to the entire population, is immediately attacked as unfair TO THEM because they view the advantage, the disparity, the skew in their favor as NORMAL, as their due, as not unfair, as just the way it is and should be, not as an untoward PRIVILEGE they have manufactured for themselves.

It’s a perfect microcosm of the macro/general situation in which they are slowly bleeding privilege and advantage as a result of demographic shifts taking away white majority and the white Christian male dominance over our government and culture that always went with it. Fish don’t know they’re wet. The privileged don’t know they’re privileged. Loss of that privilege is perceived and felt not as loss of something that was extra or advantageous forcing a return to equality or equal playing fields, but as oppression/subjugation and an attack on the identity that had incorporated all of it as simply the way things are and are supposed to be.

I read this post and I thought: Obama talked to @mattinpa one day then woke up the next morning saying “Oh, for f***s sake! I have got to do something more to help save us from this nutjob of a Current Occupant.”

Not a bit more than I do…

So, because one Democrat supposedly once contributed to gerrymandering a single district in Illinois, it makes decades of GOP gerrymandering across the country OK, today and for eternity? Ha! Ha! LOLGOP!

Nah, Obama’s like Glinda, we’ve always had the power to save ourselves, but he knew we had to learn it for ourselves. :woman_mage::high_heel:

That’s why he appointed Trump as his successor, to ensure that we’d be energized enough to learn.

This is just the latest leg of this campaign since the group Obama for America merged with Eric Holder’s redistributing group earlier this year.

He truly is a despicable human being.
