Obama, Trump Tied As Most Admired Man | Talking Points Memo

Barack Obama and Donald Trump seem to have finally found common ground in an unexpected way.

A Gallup poll published Monday found that Obama and Trump are tied this year as Americans’ most admired man. While this is Obama’s 12th time taking the top spot in the poll, it’s a first for Trump — a result he’s certain to relish.

‘But the independents were evenly divided’?? Evenly divided? WTF? Something ain’t right with this poll. I predict the internals have a gross error.

Is this the Ferengi edition of the Gallup poll?

There’s nothing admirable about the Donald which is why the Republicans like him so much.

That’s because any Republican looks better compared to Trump, except for those that have gone full sycophant.

He’s not going to relish sharing it with Obama. While Obama shrugs his shoulders, Trump will seethe, fume, and seethe some more.

Many rethugs no longer ID as rethugs because it has become toxic. They call themselves independents but they are still rethugs in their black hearts.

Fake News. Every Republican is so deeply ashamed of Trump they attack anyone who mentions what he says or does. That’s why the only criticism Republicans can muster is to quietly gripe that Trump publishes all his insanities on Twitter, because it makes it so difficult to pretend he’s not a total nutjob.

When a Trump Supporter claims they support Trump, it’s only to spite the people who hate Trump. And if the corporate media focused more on how the Trump Admin is trashing our country and less on the clown who gets good ratings, they might stop pretending to like him so much.

And some are further to the Right than most Republicans.

The big tell to me about the so-called “Independents” is that they are more open to more sex with more partners, more drugs and, essentially, more Libertarianism than straight-up GOPers.

Did I read that right? Obama has been at the top of that poll for almost 4 years AFTER leaving office, and Chump hasn’t made the list until this year? Why wouldn’t Chump have won it in 2016 or 2017? How does he rate it now, after sucking so bad for so long and so many more of his crimes becoming public? I smell some kind of pressure campaign…you know he has done it for every other poll and media outlet he could sic Parscale or Pecker onto. Maybe he went all-in this year on the pressure, although I am not sure how populare/prestigious this Gallup survey is. Perhaps it wasn’t on his radar before.

“…and 45 percent of Republicans selecting Trump.”

In all fairness, Republicans did give more votes to Trump for the first time than they did to Dylann Roof.

So there’s that.
