Oath Keepers Leader Disavows Far-Right Rally In Portland Saturday

Far right version of Life of Brian infighting.

Wonder if we can help them organize crack suicide squads…?

Mr. Rhodes should get Diogenes lamp and look for the non-racist in his organization.

This week there was (finally!) a big official response to these thugs showing up to make trouble. City government, the Police Chief, and a range of community groups held a press conference and announced that the Proud Boys and Patriot Prayer were not welcome. Then they (finally!) charged Gibson and others for the crimes they have committed, making it problematic for them to show up.

Also Pop Mob is holding a carnival with music and costumes called the Spectacle. They are also asking people to donate $1 per fascist.

“We do not believe the organizers are taking the steps necessary to ensure that white nationalist and suspected white nationalist groups and individuals will be excluded,” he wrote.

Excluding white nationalists from the event would mean prohibiting the Portland police department from being there.

And asked the Governor to put the National Guard on alert. I don’t think that will happen, but is more a message to the fascists that they are serious.

This is what an antifa convention looks like…

Or anyone showing up at the event at all.

Thanks.

I’ll be back in wine country on Saturday and far away from downtown. To these numbnuts I look like your stereotypical angry old white man right down to the logo on the rear window of my farm truck.

But my University of California Alumni license plate holder must be a head scratcher for them .

Yep. And 'lil Joey is whining that this is a conspiracy to prevent him from rioting in Portland tomorrow. Damn I’d love to take him for a long ride to eastern Oregon.

They’ll ignore that if you tell them you only drink distilled water, or rainwater, and only pure-grain alcohol. And deny them your essence.

Please, for the love of all that is green, leafy and sticky, stop calling them “militia” groups. They are not really militias and bear no resemblence to what a militia was when there were militias, particularly because they have no formal relationship to the governing structure of a municipality or state. These are, in fact, nothing but angry white imbecile men who like to fluff their weewees with the let’s-pretend tomfoolery that they are somehow the vanguard protectors of American freedom, so yay, check out our AR15 assault rifles, Walmart fatigues and training exercises/weekend barbeque parties! They’re not. They’re not even remotely that. They’re just sad, pathetic goofs living in a somewhat dystopian, fully imaginary fantasy world.

When will we finally get sensible milkshake control legislation?

the FBI had asked him to “tone down” the rhetoric about the event.

Yes, not to cancel it, or warn him of specific elements/individuals whom he should personally keep and eye on, but just “tone down” the rhetoric.

We wouldn’t want those fascists to betray themselves. Not the FBI ones, not the ones on the street.

I’m not sure I agree. I think the term “militia” has a negative connotation with most people of doofuses cosplaying with real guns and therefore is the right word to use. Calling them a “militia” doesn’t make them sound better, they make the word sound worse.

Shakespeare was right and Orwell was wrong. People judge words based upon what they’re describing, not the other way around. A rose is a rose no matter what you call it, and a militia is a group of armed dorks filled with impotent rage because their parents and Hollywood lied to them from birth and they still haven’t figured it out.

There are some genuine pro-fascist folks in the White Nationalist movement, but most of them are just ignorant. In order to be anti-fascist, you have to actually know what fascism is, otherwise fascism gets conflated with WWII and Germany. How can Americans be fascists when John Wayne defeated them all back in the 1950’s?
