So, special interest money - even given secretly to candidates is fine. Private individuals giving money to municipalities to expand voting opportunities must be stamped out. It’s so easy being a right-winger. You’re never called on to explain yourself.

Staunch GOP member Benny White, losing candidate for Pima County Recorder from Tucson, has offered to “audit the audit” (along with former officials of Clear Ballot Group).
The proposal is simple. Benny, et. al., say they can determine the votes in any sealed ballot box from public (but complex) voting databases. He wants the “auditors” to pick a sealed box and count it, then compare their numbers to his, then go back and examine each ballot jointly if there is a discrepancy. You know… the kind of thing you would do if you really wanted to know.
Benny is GOP to the bone, but that’s actually a good thing. He is an abrasively straight shooter who toned down a bit and focused on working in the election system over the last 15 years. His voting proposals as a candidate would have benefited the GOP, but he is always sincere about getting it right within the law.
(Disclosure: he’s a neighbor – one that I don’t like but whose word I would trust .)

It is an epic embarrassment. Made worse by the fact that my state’s senate voted for it.

Some cancers are tumor-like, some are generalized What trump has unleached and drives has every foul attribute of the worst sort of anti democratic cancer. It’s now generalized with tumors sprouting hither and yon. It’s circulating like a totally out of control melanoma peeling malignant cells every which way. The Arizona Government could put a stop to this and at least try to save our democracy but they will not.
We are headed down the drain.
