Mars sounds like the better destination, but I am a bit concerned about exporting our problems, not like Mars has done anything to deserve it.

I was on a plane once across from a mother and her son, say 5 years old, who kept kicking the seat in front of him. A flight attendant said she had to make him stop or they’d be put off the plane, and she was genuinely astonished that she’d been asked to do this obviously impossible thing. “How’m I supposed to make him stop?” she kept saying. It’s not an exact analogy but I did wonder what ailed her that she could think that way.
