NYC Delays Return Of Indoor Dining As COVID Cases Surge Across The Country | Talking Points Memo

I rode the DC metro for the first time a few years ago, and it was fine. I’m not a fan of CTA, but that’s largely attributable to Chicago’s miserable weather. The commies were smart enough to put Moscow’s metro way, way underground.

Outdoor dining isn’t perfect either, it seems. Lots of schadenfreude in this one, including the socialite organizer not wanting to tell anyone she came down sick because it might hurt her standing.

I think the young and the restless are more feeling like they can’t live without getting laid and restaurants and especially bars are part of that.

I believe it would be more accurate to say that the mortality risk approaches zero for that group.

Very much not the same thing.

Also too: Kids can shed viruses. Kids tend to live with people older than they are. You gonna mask all the kids at home to keep the foe at bay?

Anecdotally? We should trust everything to that?

No.

And again: Less likely does not mean anything close to almost impossible, let afuckinglone impossible. I’d rather err on the side of caution.

School 'em? Then board 'em separately and quarantine before any home visits. Psychologically assaultive, but letting them congregate daily and then fly to a thousand nests is many counts of attempted assault with a deadly weapon.

Or I suppose we could allow outdoor classes with masks and distancing. Not so great in Wisconsin’s winter, though.

We may have to open the fucking schools, but what you have presented isn’t anything like sufficient to convince me that it’s reasonably safe for adult relatives and contacts. And their contacts. And theirs.
