I’m so generally slow on the uptake that I may see that same deficiency in others in situations where I’m again missing it.

Well, you know how Republicans think.
Not surprised, never take responsibility. Was involved in a fender bender a number of years ago, I was turning left, from the left turn lane then had a person going straight decode that they also would turn left. First thing she said to officer when he arrived, “I’m a Doctor’s wife”. Never take responsibility, always try to pass it off to the other.
