I heard a guy say something I found quite alarming, like he was advocating political violence. Nothing was done, of course, because it was brayed by Pedolph Twittler, referring to his then-opponent Hillary Clinton. Besides, he would never advocate political violence.

I didn’t see anything in the article that made me upset. The three examples were all pretty obvious examples of people who where promoting violence. There is no room for violence on the left or the right. That is the bargain we make as Americans.
What I find disturbing is targetting one side or the other.

There are credible threats, and there are foolish, angry people spouting off on the internet. Usually when the Secret Service or the FBI investigates, they make a determination of whether the threat is credible or not, and if not they sternly warn the person to be more careful about what they say. (I actually do know someone who had exactly that happen to them.) Putting folks in jail for random, vague threats is a major break from established procedure.
As several have noted here, many Republicans, up to and especially President Dumbass, have made similar or worse threats; none of them has gone to jail for it. And that is why something in that article should make you upset.

No disagreement in a rational reality. However, the proven asymmetry in pardons vs agressive prosecution sends a clear message and is cause for concern.

You are right. There is a reason the stern talking too is the response of choice. America can’t afford to put millions of people in jail. The judicial system won’t do it anyway and most of the time the FBI has bigger fish to fry. That is what will probably happen with these people but that is why we have an FBI to investigate.
People threatening on the left shouldn’t feel immuned while they cheer the FBI talking to people threating on the right.
That is my whole objection to the politicized DOJ. They used to appear to be even handed. That was the consisent message sent by politicians of both parties, but since Trump that is out the window.

Hey, we just had the Republican’t candidate for the US Senate in Michigan declare in an open forum that he was going to go hunt Muslims. If anyone deserves to be prosecuted for domestic terrorism, it’s that guy. But he will probably get a giant pass while Democrats like Chuck Shumer and Hakeem Jeffries will talk about Hassan Piker instead, and he will definitely get a blanket pardon from Trump if there’s any danger he may ever be charged…
