While no friend of Elon Musk or fan of Twitter, for decades I’ve considered NPR the domestic equivalent of the Voice of America, and long ago quit listening (don’t object unless you’ve actually spent some time listening to VOA abroad — it’s not — or wasn’t in the 1980’s and ‘90’s — what is commonly pictured as a rabid right-wing operation) . Plus it’s no secret that its board has long been made up of conservatives and their representatives, and that the operation considerably depends on foundations of the wealthy to continue to operate, as well as to keep its limited Congressional funding.p.
“State-financed media organizations with editorial independence, like the BBC in the UK for example, are not defined as state-affiliated media for the purposes of this policy,” the Help Center continues.

Totally false.
The NPR Board of Directors is responsible for the governance of the 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation. The Board sets the policies and overall direction for NPR management, monitors the performance of NPR, and provides financial oversight.
On November 2, 2015, NPR Members approved a change in the NPR Bylaws to expand the Board of Directors to 23 directors, consisting of 12 Member Directors who are managers of NPR Member stations and are elected to the Board by their fellow Member stations, 9 Public Directors who are prominent members of the public selected by the Board and confirmed by NPR Member stations, the NPR Foundation Chair, and the NPR President & CEO.

This is great information. Thank you for posting.
That Elon Musk is actually just a POS seems to be the most parsimonious explanation for his repeated actions making him look like a low-life piece of shit.
The BBC is state-affiliated media.
k
I don’t like Elon Musk.
Xinhua n the Beeb aren’t the same.
The previous Beeb postings (screen caps) don’t have ‘state affiliated media’ tags.
I put some of those in there for effect. All are on the spectrum of state-affiliated media.
Based on the information provided, Elon Musk is unfairly targeting NPR.
Musk is clearly a fascist, unbound by fact and humanity, ruled by raw power.
Auntie Beeb is state-affiliated but editorially independent.
Twitter doesn’t see it as such n Twitter (Musk) is the fiddler.
NPR excels in lots of bothsiderism and airing dozens of ads every hour about who “supports” them, so I’ll allow Twitter to rag on them. And by the way, Twitter sucks. Boycott them!
Thus the endless “support for NPR comes from” announcements, which is why I don’t donate anymore and rarely listen if I want factual news stories. I don’t need “Tam” Keith pushing her milquetoast company lines.
