No Money for NYC With or Without Zohran!

There are a few Trump II retribution threads converging today in the hours since the government shut down after the fiscal year ended at midnight Wednesday. Since as early as last week, White House Office of Budget and Management Director Russ Vought has been hinting that if Democrats held the line and actually went through…

Specifically, he directed federal agencies last week to begin putting reduction in force plans in place that include permanent layoffs and mass firings within the federal government.

It was these exact types of worries in March that swayed some Democrats to help Republicans pass a short term spending bill to fund the government through the end of the fiscal year.

HI Dem politicians - it will fire them all anyway, so please, just this once, don’t be nice to the bully thinking that THIS time, he won’t take your lunch money.

As a Government Employee (and retired Military Veteran) it would be a violation of the Hatch Act for me to comment on threats issued by OMB Director Vought to punish Blue Cities for defying the Felon in Chief. Fortunately Mr. Jon Stewart has no such restrictions.

Trump’s agenda is nothing other than revenge. He is a disgrace.

“It‘s a win-win scenario because National Guardsmen are proud of that duty that they performed, and they brought crime down dramatically in D.C. And all of us are safe. Our staffs are safe. They’re not walking in fear right now. I think we should do that in every major city run by Democrats who aren’t serious,” Johnson said.

So the reactionaries have given up Escape from New York crime levels for, “every major city run by Democrats.”
It’s good of them to be out in the open about what it’s always been about.

Even though he’s been threatening to do this to all blue cities (under the guise of punishing places with sanctuary protections for undocumented immigrants) for a while, that Truth post said that he would withhold federal funds if popular progressive candidate and Democratic nominee Zohran Mamdani won the election in November.

As per usual, the GOP is shooting the hostage (withholding NYC funding), then demanding Dems comply. They don’t seem to realize that with a dead hostage, Dems have no reason to negotiate with Congressional Republicans.

You know, I’ve been thinking…Nuremberg PA is a nice little town, population of just over 400, that would make an appropriate site for the trials post Trump regime. Just have to knock together a few holding cells and a courtroom.

Sad to say, reporters going undercover got all of Vought’s plans on video before the election, but it was mostly met with a ho-hum for quite some time…And most people seemed to believe Trump’s repeated lie that he had nothing to do with it. He is one helluva good liar. But I guess anything you practice a hundred times a day you’re likely to be good at.

It’s actually spooky how all the interlockings of their plans as laid out in Vought’s unwitting news interview are conceptually just exactly what everybody’s now seeing and being horrified by.

This is really worth a new look just to see how real and preplanned it is.

Yeah, the media dropped the ball on that one although it’s basically been proven true since the Inauguration.

In any case, the claim used by Democrats is not from Trump’s mouth and is based on an undercover report from a former associate who may have exaggerated the significance of his relationship with the former president. As the Centre for Climate Reporting states, the cover story used to arrange the hidden camera interview was a discussion of a donation opportunity.

While we cannot be certain about Trump’s feelings on Project 2025, the “blessed” comment appears to have been misattributed.

The Ruling

Unverified.

The “blessed” comment was based on an undercover interview with Project 2025 author and former Trump staffer Russell Vought. Vought said on hidden camera he was not worried about Trump’s public dismissal of Project 2025 and that the president had “blessed” his “organization.” In the context of the conversation, this appears to refer to the Center for Renewing America (CRA), which Vought founded in 2021.

While the CRA and Vought contributed to Project 2025, the comment seems to refer to the CRA exclusively.

No matter that context, Trump has not given his “blessing” publicly or directly. Trump has tried to distance himself from the project, calling some of its ideas “abysmal” and “ridiculous.”

:man_facepalming:

They acted like the SCOTUS and bribery, where if there isn’t a signed and notarized quid-pro-quo in triplicate, it wasn’t a “real” bribe.

Just wanted to remind everyone that the last time there was a Democratic-Party-elected Chief Justice of the Supreme Court was 1953.

At this point, Trump and Co. are bringing a knife to a gunfight. The Dems know full well that they can’t afford to cave on this issue, regardless of cost, at least if they want to have any credibility. And, as practically everyone is saying, this issue may tar the R’s regardless how much garbage their BS media factory turns out.

Not so much didn’t believe him as had no idea what it was he was denying. And besides, Democrats are all Communists, Blacks, and women. Mostly Black women. And Communists.

"I think we should do that in every major city run by Democrats who aren’t serious,” Johnson said.

Trump has said the operation has been a huge success and, like Johnson, given them a clean bill of health.

Democrats hereby vow to continue the great President Trump’s Big Beautiful Immigration Program. We will deploy troops to red states which also “aren’t serious” and complete the mission Republicans want to start.
