Trump is fine with women as long as they stay in their place.
The large, luxurious office that traditionally goes to the White House press secretary is, in the current administration, occupied by (male) deputy chief of staff for communications Taylor Budowich. Leavitt’s office, down the hall, is less than half the size, an issue of which she has never complained in public. If the snub hurts her ambition, she does not show it.
In case you and others have a minute or two for some reading, here is the criminal complaint against Judge Dugan, with the FBI Agent’s supporting affidavit:
This is fairly detailed but keep in mind that this is the prosecution’s version of events and, if it goes to trial, the United States will have to prove intent (which, of course, is inferred from the circumstances - I’m interested in whether anything more emerges that enlarges on just what those are)
Who said anything about violence? I am imagining a slow moving crowd of a few million taking over all of Washington. Then, when they surrounded the White House, they can gently remove the occupants, anaesthetize them, and take them for trial. You know, like the one they gave Saddam? But no violence! Seriously though, martial law? Only this bunch would be stupid enough to try. Under COMPETENT leadership, the US military couldn’t even subdue Iraq or Afghanistan. Now we think they are going to do it here? In a country where all of the friends and family of the occupying soldiers live, unlike those other failed examples? I don’t think so. Furthermore, do we see Hegseth being able to conduct such an operation? I am amazed on a daily basis that he hasn’t been fragged yet by a member of the officer corps. They must disarm anyone who gets close to Kegbreath.
Just saw a brief headline at Rawstory saying cashP had deleted his statement on the arrest of the judge. Didn’t read it but I’m hoping it’s the beginning of the inevitable walk back over the backlash from the arrest. Chalk up another dotardian defeat to incompetence of his appointees I can only hope.
I doubt the administration will walk this back, because the goal is intimidation of the judiciary branch. They were just waiting for an example like this to pounce on, probably keeping several judges under surveillance who were thought to be the most supportive of immigrants. On the face of it, they might even have a case for criminal action.
The curious thing is Patel deleting the initial announcement. Maybe because he got out ahead of Bondi, and she was the one lined up to announce it?
I often suffered from shin-splints when walking on concrete or asphalt paved surfaces. I’ve found a telescoping hiking cane changes my gate enough that shin-splints are very rare anymore. And it telescopes small enough to travel easily with me.
