The biggest problem with the CDC, NIH and HHS and every other federal government agency is NOT the professional workforce. The biggest problem are Trump’s political appointees who manage the workforce along with all public-facing documents and statements. There is very significant friction between the professionals and the political appointees. Dr. Bright is just one example, and he’s just a drop in the bucket. So I don’t want to hear about the need for the CDC to redeem their reputation, since it’s the political appointees who’ve screwed up big time while driving out some of the top talent.

We will never know the true number of deaths caused by this virus and that’s just the way tRump wants it. It almost makes me long for the days when we had to keep a ship out of port to keep his numbers down. What a travesty.
