New Arizona AG To Flip Predecessor’s Sham Election Fraud Unit Into Voting Rights Task Force

You mean, like clear the field so Gallegos can run unopposed in the AZ democratic primary? That happened a few days ago.

It took me a while, but it finally dawned on me that the Republican party no longer believes winning an election is the same thing as getting the most votes. It is now about manipulating the process so severely by gerrymandering, throwing out legitimate votes, shutting down polling places, refusing people the right to vote, scaring people out of voting and many other methods of corrupting the process (with the ultimate being courts picking the winner like Bush v Gore) in order to assert that it would be impossible for a Democrat to get more votes when all that is in play. It has nothing to do with democracy anymore - it is all about controlling the election process.

As an Arizonan, I have to say we have a very deep bench when it comes to the crazies.

  • Scaring poll workers
  • Other effective methods regarding the act of voting
  • Corrupting the Courts
  • Propagandizing the population so as the make the above seem fair and impartial

Cannot disagree.

BTW, I hope I didn’t come across as combative or rude. I was just trying to explain how some of the systems work. If these maggots understood a bit more of how the system works and why, …oh, never mind. They have no interest in learning, so you can’t teach them. I’m reminded of the guy in WI who was making big claims about election “fraud” and then was put in charge of one their idiotic “audits,” who then admitted he had no clue how the election system worked :man_facepalming:

If you’re interested in more discussion about how election systems work, I was involved in conversation a couple of weeks ago about different issues, but also about voting systems. Here’s the link to my first comment in that convo; you’ll have to follow responses to see everything:

I didn’t think you were being anything other than helpful in discussing this. Like I said I like process and procedure.
I still have a hard time wrapping my head around the differences I’ve read about in how elections are conducted in each state, heck even in counties in within the same state.

Yes, indeed. We need to set some better minimum standards (thanks, Sinemanchin!).

Not true. Sorry if you haven’t run across him, but he is quite visible here in Arizona.

He’s a Marine Corps veteran of Op. Iraqi Freedom, and has served in the US House since 2014, and was in the state House of Representatives from 2010. Yes the district he ran in was Gerrymandered, but Gallego has been receiving 70+% in all his elections.

He’s a strong candidate who has staked a presence in Arizona. Also, he isn’t afraid to go after his critics.

Doug Ducey approved a budget of $530,000

To investigate fraud??? Republicans are really bad with money.

Kris Mayes is going to turn that waste into something productive.

Biden could take some lessons from Mayes. Resign or be fired for every MAGAT holdover. Better late than never.

His starting to get out there now is a good thing. He sounds as though he’s got a great background and, hopefully, no previously unrevealed skeletons in the closet that can and will be used against him during the campaign.
