That was great. Not a musical I know well, but I’ve heard that tune before. Likely wasn’t Jerry’s version, though.

Hey, do you know the difference between George Conway and Bernie Sanders?

George Conway doe not endlessly attack Democrats.

But sure, stay true to the course: Stay pure, keep losing.

Appro po of nothing that our allies have helped, except how did that “Re-Elect Joe Biden” work out?

You mean like the white left who gave us the shiv in 2016? And in 2000? And 1968? The white privilege of the Bernouts, Jill Stein stooges; “there’s no difference between Democrats and Republicans” ?

You bring up Stalin in discussing George Conway? That’s just sad. Hey maybe I’ll see your Stalin and raise you a Susan Sarandon.

Stay pure, keep losing. You’ll get that unicorn someday.

The Fantasticks’ original off-Broadway production ran a total of 42 years (until 2002) and 17,162 performances, making it the world’s longest-running musical. The musical was produced by Lore Noto. It was awarded Tony Honors for Excellence in Theatre in 1991.

Oh yes it was. From the original Fantasticks album, I think, though he continued to perform the song years later (see the video linked to below – that should persuade you). He was legendary in the NY musical theatre.

Orbach’s career began on the New York stage, both on and off-Broadway, where he created roles such as El Gallo in the original off-Broadway run of The Fantasticks (1960) where he was the first performer to sing that show’s standard “Try to Remember”.[3] He won the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical for playing Chuck Baxter in the musical Promises, Promises (1968–1972).[4] He was Tony-nominated for portraying Sky Masterson in Guys and Dolls (1965) and Billy Flynn in the original Chicago (1976). He also acted in Annie Get Your Gun (1966) and 42nd Street (1980).

That’s just a taste. Read more

All I was saying is I know the tune…heard it before…but I don’t think it was Orbach’s version that I had heard. I suspect his isn’t the only recorded rendition of the song?

Why would we even consider electing a former republican to one of the top 5 bluest district in the entire country?

Oh, I see. I’m sorry for misinterpreting you. I hope you enjoyed the video of the older Jerry Orbach singing the song!
