Nevada has an extractive economy. Especially Vegas where they extract cash from the innumerate masses.
It’s not, as the article mentions, a typical western state. Not even close. Big Gambling and Big Mining run Nevada.

The prion disease is running rampant in the GOP these days. Reality doesn’t matter, it’s all contained in the next “Truth” post. More like Orwell’s “Ministry of Truth” if you look closely. We must stop this man from returning to the White House; that is my only crusade these days. If he is re-elected, there will be no further national elections in this country, mark my words.

The Nevada Republican Party’s rules for its caucus reflect some GOP leaders’ efforts to limit voting.

The national gooper cult has long been engaged in efforts to limit voting. They’re well aware that they cannot win elections legitimately in a true democracy.

The idiot Republican voter base is primed to believe anything that doesn’t go exactly their way is a conspiracy. Conspiracy theories are a form of religion, attributing the reason for events happening as they do to the work of an invisible, omnipotent power.

Perhaps one day America will come around to the fact that it should not trust its future to folks that habitually fuck up.

Counting caucus results is not the same as counting election results, Ramachandran said. Hand-counting an election with hundreds of thousands of voters and dozens of races is neither efficient nor accurate.

“It’s really important when people are looking at those issues not to make the mistake of comparing apples to oranges,” she said.

Apples in the one hand, democracy, oranges in the other…; and this is what they say straight out.

If the GQP wins in November, it won’t matter the format of the information pertaining to elections for national office.

There won’t be any more elections for national office, or they will be so controlled as to not need any info - there’ll only be one candidate and woe be to the voter that doesn’t file their ‘selection’.

The good news is, the country will finally achieve 99% voter participation, right? [/s]

If I wanted to lure in mice I’d use cheese. If I wanted to lure in provincial rubes I’d use sensational rhetoric as an intellectual approach would be left on their plates. Monster Trucks as bait vs intellectual discourse…that kind of shit.

““If you don’t want me to be a conspiracy theorist, then be transparent,””

Who wants to tell her?

Seems to me that the changes the NV GOP made to the manner of how they choose their state’s preferred presidential candidate is reliant on how well the NV Republican voters keep abreast of the party’s doings. This is all so complicated, people have jobs and lives, and the way the NV GOP has been fiddling around with the process I wouldn’t want any of them to have my name, address, and email. Sounds like any staffer could have a side hustle and gather some of the info tor their own purposes.
But I come from a state where when we vote in primaries we just tell them what party’s ballot we want. I’ve been tempted in the past meddle in the Republican primaries, but then I think “why waste my vote”.

nyt: in totally transparent primary trump wins nevada

in 20never…

In an interview with ProPublica, Parks said the party’s central committee decided not to participate in Nevada’s new presidential preference primary election because it wants to demonstrate what he contends is the proper way to run an election: required identification, paper ballots and hand-counting with results reported on the same day.

Calling it now - the results of the GOP Nevada caucus will not be reported on the same day.

However, the results of the Dem Nevada primary will.

Maddow did a completely understandable review of this issue last evening…although I squirmed my way through it,I understood the major premise when she was through with the segment.Even if you are a scorched earth republican with no morals or self respect…you would still need to take a three hour shower to wash away the scuzz.
