Georgia was among the last states to be called, more than one week after Election Day, bringing Biden’s tally to 306 electoral votes nationwide — far surpassing the 270 that he had achieved on Saturday when he became the President-elect. President Trump, who was projected to win North Carolina, has 232 electoral votes.
Reversing to the exact 306-232 EVs in Trump’s win over Hillary Clinton.
This time with 17,000,000 more popular votes than Trump garnered in 2016.
One word: Repudiation.
Looks like the US will surpass 11 million total cases, 4 million active cases and 150,000 new cases today (Worldometer). 250,000 deaths by tomorrow. But, I doubt Trump will give a second of his briefing time to this information.
Instead, in addition to ranting today about his imaginary win, I expect he will use this opportunity to accuse Pfizer of trying to hurt his re-election bid by not releasing the vaccine news earlier.
Soon the hype will turn to Trump’s 2024 run, though we can all see that’s just smoke and mirrors since there’s no way he’s going to subject himself to the vagaries of another campaign and potential loss (assuming he is even still around/able to run at that point). But even if he were available and so inclined, we should be able to head him off by pointing out that he wouldn’t be the first to serve two nonconsecutive terms. Grover Cleveland beat him to that punch and obviously, there’s no point for him to play second fiddle to President Cleveland.
If ACORN wasn’t kicked to the curb in 2010, this may have happened long ago. How about putting Howard Dean or anyone else just as competent in charge of registering voters nationwide.I think I read Stacey Abrams wants to run for governor again. If so, she’s out. Let her do whatever she wants. We owe her donations if she makes another run for governor. Let’s expand her Fair Fight group to a dozen red states.
Reagan won 489 to Carter’s 49 electoral votes.
Popular vote was 50.7% to 41%. Shameful that a man of Carter’s caliber got beat that badly by someone just as shallow and dim as Trump back in 1980.
Yes, I know you weren’t serious about it being the biglyest win.
Joe Scarborough made the point a week ago when the networks had still not called PA that the only reason the networks were waiting to call these states was because they were “intimidated” by Donald Trump and that everyone knew who was going to win. He also made the point that the longer they waited the more they played into Trump’s claims about fraud. I think Scarborough is right and had Trump won these states by the same margin Biden did most if not all would have been called a week ago.
That said it is a relief the states were finally called for Biden because now Trump must flip at least 3 states and even with Chief Injustice Roberts running the Supreme Court that will not happen.
A dominating electoral college win, completely flipping Trump’s win from 2016, coupled with an overwhelming, historical popular vote win. That’s not just a clear repudiation of Trump – that’s what you call a MANDATE, and let’s not let the GOP or their media hacks claim otherwise.
