Yep, so much for allowing any hint of independent thought in the Fascist Party. Tillis is not my favorite Senator, but give the man a break. He is apparently seeing the change in peopleâs tolerance of the rightwing bigotry, and being a fairly astute pol, he is moving ever so slightly to the center.
Many in North Carolina want to at least be seen as having some modicum of empathy and common decency. Itâs good for bidness. The Republican hierarchy in NC has not received the message. Tillis deserves some measure of respect ⊠well, not enough to vote for him, but better than the other R choices. The lesser of evils thing.
The 2024 NC governorâs race will be telling about the state of sanity of the NC electorate. Pretty scary right now. Apart from governor, the Dems have a pretty bad losing streak under the old state party leadership. The new leadership is mostly younger, more progressive, but relatively untested. Good candidates, though.
It is clear that Thom Tillis wants to remain in the US Senate and his advisors have looked closely at the demographics of North Carolina. Holding a state wide office isnât the same as holding an office in a heavily gerrymandered district.
Look who actually shows up to the meetings. Start with the worst HOA board you can imagine, then fold in a heaping cupful of racist resentment and aggressive ignorance, stir, and bake at 500Âș until half done.
They like to talk big, donât they? And sneer at all of those effete libârul snowflakes. But theyâre the ones who keep melting when a few rays of sunshine hit them.
Of course he doesnât care. Itâs not like heâs going to lose his seat. Pierce is correct, there is a prion disease ravaging the brains of the Republican Party.
I have been pleasantly surprised about some of Tillisâ work with dems.
I donât know how to break this to you, Dan, but anything less than 100% lockstep gets your guy branded as a pansy in todayâs GOP. You can beg to be loved, but it would be better to just tell them to fuck off.
Iâm sorry, but in what world is âformer poll watcherâ an item of interest worthy of being put in someoneâs bio? Itâs not a real job in itself. Itâs basically a partisan activist position. Sheâs a âpartisan activist who has served as a poll watcher in previous elections for the Republican Party.â Did/Does she have an actual CV beyond âpoll watchingâ?
