The North Carolina state Republican Party voted on Saturday to formally censure Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC) for supporting and backing policies around LGBTQ+ rights, immigration and gun reform that it considered to be insufficiently conservative.
It would appear that The Republican Party is determined to decrease its own numbers in both the Senate and the House of Representatives. If that is the case, then iām on board with that plan. Please proceed to alienate as many elected officials from your own Party as possible.
Heaven forfend he votes in a manner that reflects his entire state constituency. Apparently you vote the party above the people or get a horse head in your queen-sizedā¦
Wow. Heās practically a lefty liberal, commie, pinko, Marxist extremist. Cast him out or have him retake the blood oath and give the secret handshake again. Heās probably a heathen too.
Of course, little do they realize they are the real problem here. These people live off their bigotry.
Ah yes, the GOP institutes āthe beatings will continue until our morals improveā approach, which must feel much like the close cousin āthe beatings will continue until the morale improvesā anytime any of them feel the morals are not moral.
Clearly, what the GQP needs to secure the full support of the American electorate is a campaign to assure that all of their candidates are the purest representatives of their culture war principals.
Iām all for their publicly banishing all members of insufficient purity.
What law of physics requires that state Republican parties have to be at least 3 x as crazy as the average Republican in that state? The Arizona Republican party canāt wait to censure other Republicans - they have gone after Republicans who did not want to pursue the insurrection like villagers with pitchforks.
