Navarro Grows Irate As He Accuses CNN Host Of ‘Cherry Picking’ Trump’s COVID Downplay | Talking Points Memo

White House trade adviser Peter Navarro on Sunday found himself in a heated exchange with CNN’s Jake Tapper as the anchor took him to task on President Trump’s purposeful downplaying of the COVID-19 pandemic in its early stages, according to legendary journalist Bob Woodward’s forthcoming book.

I can’t decide whether, when translating to American, “Navarro” should be translated as “HImmler” or “Goebbels”.

Good for Tapper and CNN!
Navarro’s bootlicking dishonesty requires calling out. It’s the only way to call out the bullshit, corruption, and criminality of Trump and his MAGATS!

In my fantasy world, from this point onward, I would see the mainstream media, when discussing anything Trump related, simply say “we would like to be able to bring someone from this administration that could give an honest argument in favor of his policies…but as a news organization, we can’t. They are only interested in lying and changing the subject and filling our viewers with bullshit. We can no longer tolerate this. The moment the Trump administration has serious, fact based individuals willing to argue his policies, we will have them on. Until then, they will no longer be given a platform here.

“Thank you.”

Navarro constantly lies is a total idiot and nothing but a worthless tool for Spanky. For the life of me I have no idea why anyone in the media would bother to have him on their show.

Navarro is accusing someone else of cherry-picking???

Boy, that’s really rich…

Carrying that water for your Dear Leader is only going to get more difficult as the bodies pile up, Navarro.

And people still invite this know-nothing, dissembling POS on why? Not only does he not merit any airtime, this waste of skin and space doesn’t even deserve air (read: oxygen).

Right wingers are so rude the way they all constantly talk over and interrupt people. They never STFU. I look forward to the day we make them STFU.

Navarro is rumored to be on the chopping block…his work on Chinese trade deal has been abyssmal…hurry sundown.

You have to admit that Navarro is consistent. He’s a complete asshole on television, and by all accounts a complete asshole in every other facet of his life.

He goes on CNN precisely so CNN can do this to him and Trump can attack CNN for not letting him talk.

CNN is still complicit.

If Navarro were not irritating, he would still be full of shit. If Navarro were not full of shit, he would still be irritating.

George Will’s characterization of Mike Pence as a lickspittle should be extended to Peter Navarro. Indeed, by Navarro’s stridency and anger, he is in a league of his own as a disgusting sycophant.

I am not sure how he did it, but Kushner found the absolutely perfect addition to the Dunning-Kruger administration by researching on Amazon. Navarro is a mediocre (some might say really bad) economist who thinks he can apply his limited math skills to a subject like epidemiology and discover insights that scientists who have been working in the field their entire lives have missed.

This unearned confidence is the hallmark of every below average asshole that has come through the Trump administration.

Jake Tapper is great. He has little patience for billshit — especially when it comes from dumbshits like Navarro.

I think cherry-picking is defined as pulling the one or two facts out of your posterior that support your position when nothing else does. In this instance, Tapper had a whole bushel basket full of cherries to feed Navarro.

Navarro yells at Tapper, interrupts Tapper, insults Tapper & CNN, and still fails to answer the question asked of him. Why did Trump lie about and dismiss the severity of the virus when he knew it was dangerous. The entire month of February was wasted, PPE was not available, tests were not available, and ventilators had not yet been manufactured. Meanwhile, Covid continues to spread and Americans continue to die. Per Worldometers 198,239 Americans killed by Covid. Mothers, fathers, grandparents, children, ordinary and extraordinary people were alive prior to the pandemic.
