NASCAR Driver ‘Pissed’ After FBI Probe | Talking Points Memo

NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace is furious that his reputation and integrity has come under fire, following the FBI’s investigation finding that a noose found in his garage stall earlier this week had been there months prior to the garage being assigned to him.

Have we seen a picture of the rope that was either tied as a garage pull or a noose?

Yes, see video segment included in write up.

I don’t understand why Bubba integrity is in question.

He did not see nor make initial report. He saw the noose after being informed by NASCAR that he had been target of hate crime.

So, why is his integrity being questioned?

I told you… fair or not Wallace was going to get blamed for planting it. After all there are people that think the dead kids of Sandy Hook were faking it.

For the same reason the sandly hook and Parkland were questioned. Mean spirited SOBs racists that are aligned with the GOP.

Didn’t see it there, and then searched online. It’s a noose.

We’ve lost the FBI. It truly is nearing end game.

I’m with Bubba. The FBI tried to sow doubt because they said it was there in Oct. '19. So what. Its still a symbol of racism and it was put there by some of the same people that like to put confederate flags on their cars and probably have no problem with people donning white hoods. So who put it there? That wouldn’t be hard to determine but apparently the FBI already closed the case with the explanation that it was used as a garage pull.

Squirrel!

NASCAR is defined as much by their racism and anything else.

Racists are gonna racist.

It’s the same as every black man shot by police, find something to lay blame on the black man and remove some from the officer.

This isn’t Wallace’s fault, even if it was mistaken for a noose and hanging there since October it was still reported by someone else and NASCAR, not him. He reacted the way any black man should when confronted with those facts, and so did NASCAR. The FBI investigation takes nothing away from that, but that won’t stop some people from attacking Wallace because he’s the symbol they can point their hate towards.

Can you post the image?

The fact that the noose was not directed at Wallace doesn’t change the fact that a certain fraction of good old boy drivers think nooses are nice decorations to have around. Someone put a noose on that garage at some point, and it can only mean one thing.

Yeah, I’d like to see this, too. Googled and don’t see it showing up anywhere on a reputable source.

Does seem to be rather a significant detail to have.

An image was posted on one of the threads here yesterday if that’s the noose in question.

IIRC correctly, the poster indicated that it was a “representative” photo of a garage pull noose, not the NASCAR one.

It was part of the massive right wing Twitter/social media campaign to discredit Bubba and explain it all away. If you ask me, Barr and Wray went some good ole boys down there to breathe the falsehood into reality.

Wallace was informed of noose in garage by President of NASCAR.

I don’t get this.

I detest when the victim is victimized.
