In each case, talk is cheap. Don’t tell me how concerned you are, go introduce a bill. Don’t tell me you might issue a subpoena, issue it. Look these guys don’t even respond to actual subpoenas, why do you think anything is being achieved by talking about it? Issue the fucking subpoena.
Well, if they’re prepared, then everything should be ready for them to just do it. Today. Now would be even better.
Sheez. Hard hitters don’t announce that they’re prepared. They prepare, and then they deliver the hit.
Come on, Jerry. Trump and Barr are literally killing Americans while you talk about being prepared. Just. Do. Your. Job.
My point exactly, although somewhat better said.
I’m reminded of Mike Tyson’s take: Everybody has a plan until they get hit.
If they’re prepared to issue the subpoena, for starters, then they should go ahead and do it. When Barr ignores it and Trump tweets two or three storms about it, that will be, again, additional, strong evidence of the Republicans SOP of ignoring laws and Democratics.
Thanks for the compliment. You said it pretty much the way I was thinking it.
You play Congressman and tell us what you would do. And what’s fucking Collins got to do with anything
You BET they ‘announce’ it so everyone will know it’s coming. Otherwise it gets lost in the noise. Politics 101.
I would issue the subpoena. For the balance of your reply see my other comments.
Yes and they will. AND we will use it. Again and again.
If there can be criticism of any given Democrat easily cranked out while sitting at a keyboard, here’s the place to find it. We’re dealing with a lawless administration. They don’t give a shit about what they do or say or the consequences that might follow. So the question remains even after reading your post. What would you have this congressman do?
Yes, you really have to wonder about some people.
How about doing what he says he’s prepared to do?
Too much to ask?
Counting on Fat Jerry to get any actual work done is a fools errand. I’ll expect some action when they get a real chair who is not a fool in charge. The contrast between Adam Schiff and others on Intelligence and some of judiciary and Fat Jerry is vast.
I’d prefer there be some mileage to be had from the issuance. Believe we have a good idea what the response will be. The sooner Barr/Trump can dismiss it-- with least resonance-- the better for them.
I rather appreciate any action that offers discomfort to them. Or requires the AG’s or Trump’s attention and/or energies. Keep bumping them. Annoying them. Make them expend time and resources.

Buster Douglas shitcanned the rest of Mike Tyson’s life in the span of 60 minutes.
Talk about having ‘no plan’.
Schiff didn’t follow any different process than Nadler did. I think Schiff is more effective in his questions and explanations of republican wrongdoing, but he issued warnings, too.
IIRC, the reason for issuing warnings is to create a trail. Maybe this could be tested, but going straight to the subpoena without making the request first could still delay because you can bet your ass the republicans will use that as another excuse to tie things up in court, which means zero days cut off of the endgame.
I know it’s frustrating to be stuck with procedure while the other side acts in bad faith, but the real problem here is how voters react to it. If they continue to reward bad behavior, republicans will continue to stonewall. Some voters will, but I get the feeling it still matters to some people, and some may even be waking up to the consequences of putting republicans in charge.
Mike had a plan until…It was over at the close of the second.
Most amazing sporting event I watched live (on TV). Goosebumps recalling it now.
