I don’t think they are.

Thank you.

Right now a majority already polls that he’s guilty. I think that majority will just grow. I honestly do not think people like the secrecy one bit. And I know from experience that people don’t like defendants who refuse to tell their side of the story. It never looks like anything other than GUILTY when that happens.

And we’ve built one hell of a case.

The only good thing about the media being shut out of the trial (for everything except probably written arguments) is that Trump will hate not getting the three ring circus he wanted. The tweetstorms will be Awesome.

We already have won, but time is needed for it to fully percolate. We’ll be at critical mass soon enough. I’m thinking he may lose in a landslide.

@pshah

it sure seems like Dems are rising to the challenge and they’re taking no prisoners…

And I hope they never look back.

Hmm won’t that be a interesting kettle of fish because I assume unlike Reagan and Obama Trump has a copyright on his name. But even if the want to be namers use DJT’s official title and name they could get around the copyright, but then calling a landfill the Trump Dump is too fun to say.

His legal TEAM ?

"In its response, Trump’s legal team said that the President “categorically and unequivocally denies each and every allegation in both articles of impeachment.”

" “Starr’s a freak,” Trump told The New York Times in 1999. “I bet he’s got something in his closet.”

One of Trump’s Lawyers Called the Other Dangerous

Alan Dershowitz once called Ken Starr a risk to American liberty. Starr believed in leaving no stone unturned. Now they’re teaming up to quash the case against Trump. What happened?

Should make for some interesting sidebars.

You’re right. Mitch knows that a pivot from the Donald is never ever going to happen, but the rules have forced Mitch into this proceeding. Trump tweeting his commentary along with the happenings on the TV (which should be shown in split screen 'cause Trump tweets are official communication) Mitch is just trying to get this over as fast as possible.

Surprisingly, or maybe not, Reagan remains the GOP’s guy, according to 538.

Problem is that the public can’t summarize what Trump is being impeached for. “Caught red-handed trying to rig the election” is what everyone should be saying.

Yes. Old-fashioned term meaning something like “complete and utter bullshit.” Long time since I heard the phrase, but it’s “arrant nonsense” not “errant nonsense.”

I would guess he said “arrant” and the stenographer got it wrong. Human stenographer or AI? Who knows.

Trump’s “Team of Rivals” or is it “Team of Revivals”?

I saw somewhere (here?) that the OK legislature is considering renaming a stretch of Route 66 after Trump: Orange Buffoon Highway to Hell.

Donald doesn’t do “team”. He does “cast”, and thinks the whole world is an ongoing reality show starring Himself. The members of his legal defense are chosen for ratings and dramatic value, not competence or suitability to the case.

These are “No Ordinary Times.”

He needs to tone down words like “errant” and “exculpatory.” Seriously, use more common language that the average person uses. Pulling out big words that Hannity can use against him in sound bites is not good. He will be viewed as arrogant and talking down to the average person, including many Trumpers and independents. Keep it simple, stupid. KISS

Trump got TV lawyers for their ability to tell smooth lies and obfuscations on camera before the Senate convenes each morning, during the daytime recesses and in the evenings after the Senate adjourns.

I thought that was Kellyanne’s job. But it is very Trump-like to get lawyers to do everything but the actual lawyering.

Errant and arrant both fall on the “fancy elitist” end of the normal distribution of vocabulary for most Americans. I suspect more people are familiar with knight errant than arrant nonsense, so that’s the spelling most likely to come to mind.
