Nadler, AOC, Other House Dems From NY Issue Calls For Cuomo’s Resignation | Talking Points Memo

House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler (D-NY) and a group of Democrats from New York’s congressional delegation called on Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) to resign on Friday. The powerful Democrat is embroiled in twin scandals: six women who have accused the governor of sexual harassment and inappropriate conduct, and it has become clear of the last month that his office obscured data on COVID-19 deaths among nursing home residents.

Everyone is reading the tea leaves now except Cuomo. He should spend this weekend packing his bags in the Governor’s mansion.

It makes me sad that the Cuomo name has come to this.

Mario was not perfect but he was a damn sight more decent than this son of his.

Maybe even call in a young female aide for assistance.

I get the feeling that Cuomo doesn’t have a friend or ally left anywhere in the state of New York. The question is, does he know that? Also, would he care?

…Unless they have a Virginia situation where Governor Blackface was about to step down until Lt. Guv McRapey was accused of rape and the AG had a blackface episode and it turned out roughly half of the legislature did as well…

I live in NY and I don’t think he should resign.

If he still has a choice.

The impeachment process could just remove him.

Still no comment from Republicans on allegations against Madison Cawthorn and Ronny Jackson. And media doesn’t ask about it.

Democrats, in contrast, are taking the allegations against Cuomo very seriously.

I’m now seeing it alleged (nymag) that Cuomo had his aides track down pretty women he met at parties and offer them jobs. That elevates the whole abuse-of-power thing. Kick his ass out.

I know you all are headquartered in New York, but most of us find your coverage of Cuomo’s scandal to be excessive. After all it is a very local story.

Yes.

People should think about the photo taken at that wedding.

Dan Gerstein (Danger Stein?) is right, of course.

Aides must be getting nervous. Takes a whole village to enable this sort of serial behavior.
