When you’re given multiple chances to confirm or correct in real time, and you confirm it every time, in multiple forms, the post hoc attempted walk-backs may not be so effective
One year our company was almost sold. The CEO came in and told the work force that all would be well and the company and jobs would stay intact. He had a bright and cheerful message and oh what opportunity would be had for all!
A couple of months later, he sent the COO down to talk about the status of the sale. The COO told us that our competitor would be buying us, would close the facilities and essentially take our IP and Patents only.

(It didn’t go through by the way. However another competitor bought them this year and they are basically closing the facilities, taking the IP and patents. Took 22 years plus)

Here’s where we need to be careful in our response and in follow-up questions.
Mulvaney is trying to slip that “server” thing in there hoping that we take it up and run with it like it’s an actual real thing, when in fact it doesn’t exist except in their imaginations. Anyone on the Left or in the media who opines or inquires about this needs to make absolutely sure they stress that it’s “the alleged DNC server” and word their questions and comments to make absolutely clear that this is nothing but a conspiracy theory.
Mulvaney’s trying to get us to cede ground, so tread carefully.

Little story about bad management related to this: Years ago an entire organization of more than 100 people was required to take an online course on sexual harassment. (How not to do it.) We found out it was because one count 'em one employee had been bugging another, and rather than deal with that one employee because ooh that would be so awkward they took this more general route. It wasn’t a power thing, this employee really wasn’t wired in particularly, it was sheer pusillanimous incompetence.

Just think how wonderful everything would be if trump and his minions could function in the real world as well as they do in conspiracy theory land. We’d all have health care we could afford, no pot holes in the streets and everybody’d have a pony in the back yard.
