They’re also noted deficit hawks.
The Republicans are also implicitly accepting the premise that Donald Trump is lying and McGahn, Comey, and others are telling the truth. https://t.co/Kxfdssxq5o

“NO EXONERATION!” Should be made into t-shirts and bumper stickers.
Lock the MOFO up the minute he sets foot outside the White House.
As always: ‘IOKIYAAR’
Not being able to hear the testimony, what leads Susan to this conclusion?
More importantly, will it stick?
I’ve been watching this live for the last hour, and in general, I do believe the Republicans points are being disputed or disagreed with by Mueller and he is generally agreeing with questions posed by Democrats. If the hearing is to televise the damning aspects of the Mueller report the Dems are doing their job.
Some of the talking heads are worried that the GOP counter-messaging is working to mitigate the effect of the Dem efforts. I dunno, I think GOP incompetence is on glorious display. Debbie Lesko, for example, calls him "Mr. Miller, Mueller shuts her down about a letter she didn’t know of and gets lost. It’s like her entire prep for the hearing was watching Hannity for 15 minutes.
and then McTurtle would deep-six it and it would never even get a hearing, more or less a vote, which it would lose anyway.
Face it. With the Senate in Republican hands, NOTHING will be done to remove Trump from office because he OWNS THEM. It is no longer a Political Party, it is a Personality Cult.
The ONLY WAY is to vote Trump out of office in 2020.
So you are saying this is bad? Just trying to clarify.
And one way to make that happen is to continue the inquiry process to make certain that the voters cannot claim ignorance to his performance in office. While not overwhelming, a lot of information and course correction has come from this already, e.g., no, Mueller did NOT completely exonerate the President. That myth is shot down.
This information needs to get out in a slow drip in order to get through.
I am getting distinct impression that Mueller is experiencing diminished cognitive function.
This was highlighted by his not reading from report when requested to.
I would agree and it’s probably why he wanted one of his team members.
Two points…I heard the Ds were changing the rules so that the stoopid 5 minute rule would be removed. I don’t know what committees or kinds of hearings they were going to modify the rules for, obviously not this kind. Seems we should have had our BEST rules implemented for Mueller, if you are going to do this…and it appears they DID NOT.
Second, would it be effective for them to ask Mueller…Sir do you find that Chump was lying about his Moscow dealings for the entirety of his campaign? Did he lie continuously about that single point during his transition? Inauguration? Do you recall when he and his spokespeople confirmed that yes, they had lied about the Moscow deal, for instance, from day one and are still obfuscating? Does he continue to lie about things you proved in your report? Is he lying still, almost 3 years of continual lying about points you have proven beyond all doubt?
This morning’s testimony is reinforcing that Pelosi’s refusal to authorize impeachment proceedings is political incompetence. This afternoon’s testimony before the Intelligence Committee will establish that Pelosi’s refusal to authorize impeachments proceeding is a dereliction of duty and a violation of her sworn oath to defend the country from all enemies foreign and domestic.
Trump should be able to take cold comfort that this hearing has been more damaging to Nancy Pelosi and the House Democratic leadership than him.
I appreciate what you say - but what puzzles me is this:
Who is left out there that has not already made up their mind about whether or not Trump has broken the law and the presidency? None of what is going on today is going to convince anyone who already has decided one way or the other to change their minds. And I do not believe that anyone who is undecided at this point will be swayed by this either. Why would they? FOX and the Republicans continue to swirl all of the crazy conspiracy angles so that even Mueller’s testimony is immediately suspect.
The Democrats are waiting for public opinion to demand impeachment. The public is waiting for an actual corpse and a smoking gun - all of this other stuff just sounds like politics to them.
Fortunately for me, I cannot be too disappointed because I had absolutely no expectations for today. The report has been “out” since March and if anything Trump’s ratings have improved a smidge - there is nothing in that report that will change this. The fact that people who actually think and care about this stuff cannot believe that people in general won’t be swayed by this does not make it so. There are no Watergate moments coming.
He is definitely showing feebleness. He looks slightly confused and baffled at times. I don’t think we can draw conclusions other than - he’s human, and he’s aging.Nevertheless, he is still providing useful and crucial indictment against Trump.
WhY doeS Mueller noT answer questionS abOut taKing “evidence “ froM the FailinG New York Times and the AMazon washington posT propogandA arm of the Democrats party and NoT fair and balanceD Fox News and qAnon.
Disagree.
I have to say that I’m (pleasantly) surprised at how weak and disjointed the GOP’s performance has been today, and that Dems have been stronger after the brief mid-morning break. Their main line of attack is falling flat because Mueller will not address the origins of his investigation or elaborate on ongoing ones, so they’re left with rambling on about seeming inconsistencies between what his report said and how Barr (mis-)characterized it, which I think only weakens their case.
