Morning Memo: GOPers Loudly Wail Over Dems Dodging Their Infrastructure Trap | Talking Points Memo

A lot of things happened. Here are some of the things.

GOP senators doth protest too loudly after Democrats managed to sidestep the giant banana peel in their path. The trap the GOP set was no secret. It would play along with a watered-down bipartisan agreement on popular infrastructure items and count on moderate Democrats to wilt when it came time to pass less popular soft infrastructure and tax reforms. In announcing that he would only sign the bipartisan bill if he had a reconciliation bill on his desk at the same time, Biden kept his shot at passing his more ambitious agenda.

Sen. Graham should stick to trying to corrupt election results.
It’s not these he’s more successful at it; but, he’s certainly more credible when he tries.

The book describes one Oval Office debate, where Trump adviser Stephen Miller chimed in saying US cities had been turned into war zones.

That infuriated Milley who spun around in his seat, pointed a finger directly at Miller & said: “Shut the f–k up, Stephen.”

In the late evening hours of Tuesday November 4 1980 I was abducted by space aliens and taken to a parallel world named Htrae where up was down and the President was just a B movie actor. Perhaps now I can return to Earth.

I saw that this AM. If that doesn’t create an enormous shit-storm, I can’t imagine what would. In the interest of good order and discipline, the SecDef should ban Fox from being shown on military installations, and DoD and USAA should immediately stop all advertising on the network.

Republicans in disarray?
They are petulant children. And I smile when they cry.
If Moscow Mitch and lady Graham don’t like it - I love it.

Same old story; Dems govern to improve the lives of We, the People, Republicans rule to protect the increase of the wealthy.
When Dems win, Republicans and their rich contributors whine, as if they suffer for it.
When Republicans win, we all suffer.
Except the rich.
Here’s proof they turned our entire process of governance into a scam and a sham meant to protect greed itself from any sort of moderation., and it has been perpetrated right before our eyes.

You mean they’re not blaming the Democrat Party for using Critical Race Theory to blow up the “bipartisan” infrastructure bill?

It also helps to have tens of millions of angry, gullible fools whose jobs you can ship to Chinese slave labor camps, then campaign on a platform of “bringing jobs back.” They get rich for the former, and elected for the latter. It really is a pretty sweet deal, if you’re a sociopathic scumbag.

"Hard to believe that man wears a uniform " says the little rich boy who only recently gave up bow ties. I think it’s time they took young Tucker out in the field for a little embedding.

That was the corporate formula after Nixon sent Bush 1 to open the Mandarin Doorway for Sam Walton.
…move to China, make it cheap, then blame them for poverty in the USA.

I called it yesterday. McConnell is having a hissy fit because Democrats are only going to pass an infrastructure bill with a reconciliation bill.

On some level, they are delighted by this. Now they can claim credit for an infrastructure bill, conveniently obscuring the parts they supported or opposed, and they can whine about Democrats running roughshod over regular order. Their base certainly won’t make a distinction between the two things.
I’m not suggesting it’s a bad thing, or that Dems should not pass the bill. I’m just saying that even the GOP recognizes that they can take advantage of this and not have to depend on cultural outrage issues that are absurd even in their terms.
