Though DHS was trying to find examples of activists plotting to commit violent acts against federal agents, it found little, Josh wrote. Documents show a somewhat absurd series of reports from informants back to DHS. One described attending a Sunrise Movement meeting where “a chick dressed like Zelda” led visitors to different meeting rooms; the agent went to one entitled “de-escalation in action.” “They were pretty big on peaceful protest,” the agent recalled to his debriefer.
The DHS doesn’t know much about the history of peaceful protest in America. Right wingers are prone to violence. People on the left generally expect to be protected by law enforcement and are often committed to non-violence.

Wyoming happens to be one of the 3 states that still approves of Trump. I wonder if this will change that?

Sidebar inspired by the protest photo - one of the things that’s emerging as point of contention in the culture wars in Minnesota is the new state flag, It’s been a wildly successful flag in that it’s distinctive, immediately recognizable and widely used, especially in opposition to Operation Metro Surge and a resistance symbol generally.
Inevitably, this means that conservatives are adopting the old state flag as a less-cringe pro-Trump/anti-woke symbol, to the point where the Republican candidate for secretary of state is basing most of his campaign on putting the new flag to a vote. He does say he’d abide by the results if it happens, so that’s something.
Of course the irony is that part of what makes the old flag bad purely at doing the things flags are for is that it’s visually unremarkable as well as racist, so it’s a lot less obvious as a statement piece than the new one is, though there are some reports of businesses flying it at the state fair having notably shorter lines than businesses that didn’t.

The big argument on the new State flag from the Right is that it too closely resembles a Somalian flag.
I’m not seeing it, but then I’m not right-wing (or right in the head if you ask people that know me).

Depends who you ask. In terms of selective outrage Trump Inc. has framed this as protecting the Baptists against disruption by outsiders.
While it is somewhat amusing to watch the Trump looking for evidence of plots that don’t exist, their endeavors have allowed them to develop records of people who don’t share their opinions. Those lists could be put to bad uses.
