Mnuchin Urges People To ‘Explore’ US Despite CDC Warning Against Non-Essential Travel

There’s a global pandemic going on, so what better time to have a picnic in Yosemite?

During an interview with Fox Business Network host Maria Bartiromo on Monday, Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin said it was “too hard to tell at this point” whether international travel would be possible this year due to COVID-19.

These idiots are only causing the stay at home orders to keep extending by allowing the virus to keep spreading, its not spreading at huge rates because most people are listening but if everyone listened we can clamp down on this a lot faster.

Kinda hard to explore when everything’s shut down. There’s nowhere to go, and getting everyone travelling is the best way to keep it spreading nicely.

Why more of these cretins haven’t been part of the Johns Hopkins dataset is beyond me.

And the flip side (posted on the EU warning thread):

European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control Director Andrea Ammon told EU lawmakers Monday that “this is not going to end any time soon and people need to prepare mentally for it.”

Had Trump not ignored the warnings?
A lower death toll would have been the most welcome result.
The secondary benefit might have been a period of normalcy between the predicted three waves of a novel virus pandemic.

As it is, we’ve been ‘sentenced’ by Trump and his incompetent minions-- to a continuous lockdown. Forced to eschew social constructs that might help us as individuals to weather this first exposure until a vaccine can be engineered and distributed.

Instead, any semblance of hope has been shrugged-off by idiots.
While we have ‘not done the crime’? We are made ‘to do the time’.

Mnuchin: Hey people stuck in area’s with high number of cases, go explore areas that don’t have high amounts of confirmed cases.

The stupid is strong in this country.

This morning I read a post on a local Facebook group from a woman whose ex-husband wanted to take their children on a cross country trip to Seattle this week. She was asking if the members thought it was alright to let them go. I wanted to yell at her “Are you out of your mind?” After reading some of the other commenters, I was wanting to yell at them as well. I could not believe all the people who thought it was a great idea. Dang, what has happened to this country?

“Travel increases your chances of getting and spreading COVID-19,” the agency warned. “CDC recommends you stay home as much as possible, especially if your trip is not essential, and practice social distancing especially if you are at higher risk of severe illness.”

“But it’s great time to explore America,” the Trump administration official told Bartiromo. “A lot of people haven’t seen many parts of America.”

This Administration is nothing but a bunch of negligent homicidal maniacs.
