Military Has Spent Over $184K At Trump Scotland Resort Since 2017

The Department of Defense has provided documents that show that the Pentagon has spent more than $184,000 at President Donald Trump’s Turnberry golf club in Scotland since 2017, according to the House Oversight Committee.

Altogether, Cummings and Raskin wrote, the military’s own estimate of its spending at Trump’s Scottish property is more than $184,000 in taxpayer funds.

How much for the fuel purchased at Prestwick? That’s where the real bucks were spent, even if it didn’t go directly to Trump. You know Trump would cheerfully have the air force incur an extra $2mil in fuel costs to bring $200k to the resort.

Wouldn’t you think that our billionaire president would offer to put up our heroic servicemen and -women for free? Wouldn’t that be the patriotic, all-American thing to do?

Obama hated our military. He steadfastly refused to board them at luxury golf resorts in their down time. Fricking America hating pinko socialist Muslim. Just sayin’…

This is obviously the direct cost, which is bad enough…the military basically just gave Trump $184,000. The costs around that, from fuel to spending in the towns around the area, also support Trump’s resort…without a bunch of fuel spending the airport budget would be worse off. The entire point of the Emolument’s clause was to make sure the president didn’t take advantage of their position for their own monetary gain while in office, to save us from policy decisions that would enrich them at the expense of America. The courts are blocking oversight on this at the moment, which is really damn disappointing…they need to get out of the way and allow Congress to pursue this to the fullest degree.

Given that we know that the fuel deal with Prestwick began during Obama’s time, the critical piece of information would be how much was spent at Trump’s resort before he took office. I’m betting that before Jan. 2017, $0 were spent putting soldiers up at the resort.

Just wait until we get the fuel bill once we start flying sorties over Iran from Prestwick.

Still, that’s only a fraction of what the bedbugs have spent on the restaurant, gift shop, and green fees.

Funny how that number keeps rising.

Only if they promise to keep him in power when he loses the election.

Some people are saying the president isn’t really a billionaire!

Given the reported premium on fuel purchased at Prestwick, one wonders if there’s an additional kickback in place. If Trump’s business practices weren’t so squeaky clean a suspecting mind might go there.

Plus the mark over nearby USAF/RAF Lakenheath/Mildenhall DOD pricing of the $11 million plus in fuel purchased at the Prestwick FBO.

As scandal-worthy as this might sound, it would be helpful to know what, if anything, spent at Trump properties before he became President?

If Trump doesn’t Trump this whole country back into the stone age, George Clooney is going to produce an awesome movie about this grift.

A number of questions, some others have asked as well:

  1. How much has been spent at other hotels in the region, in the same time frame, by month and year?
  2. The same for the Obama years
  3. How much is the per day per person cost at Trump’s resort? How much at other hotels used in the area in the same time frame?
  4. What were transportation costs to Trumps’ resort vs. to other area hotels?
  5. What perks did hotels provide, if any, and how does Trump’s resort compare?
  6. What were food costs and what discounts if any were offered by Trump? by others?
  7. What would have been the savings if the lowest cost (yet still suitable) and closest accommodations been used?
  8. How many other hotel owners have relationships with Trump? Do they receive preferential treatment vs. other hotel owners in the area?

The list could go on.

I believe the law doesn’t allow for service personnel or government officials to accept such overtures/gifts … as that would cause an appearance of potential favoritism from the government and possible kickbacks. If they only knew.

For me the critical piece of information is if and when Prestwick became a primary airport option, as opposed to a backup to be used when AFBs were unavailable due to weather or capacity. The crews can’t be requesting a Turnberry stay unless they just happen to be routed through Prestwick.
