Mike Johnson Joins The Pathetic Parade To The Trump Trial

“senate” is a complete waste of resurces.

This ongoing stunt reminds us of Godfather 2, when Michael Corleone had the brother of a whistleblower witness show up to watch him testify. The purpose was to intimidate.

I believe Republicans have a goal of how much “nothing” they can accomplish during a session of Congress.

GOP Electeds Prostrate Themselves At The Altar Of Trump

Can’t read that without thinking about Colin Jost’s brilliant item on the recent SNL: “Stormy Daniels testified that she went to bed with Trump and let him do anything he wanted so she could further her career. Just like the Republicans.”

Says it all.

I wonder if the app on his phone let’s his son know everytime he jerks off Trump?

Bow before the Dear Leader, you obsequious pile of lies and greed.

For all of Mr. Trump’s faults he is a good retail pol. He knows that a boring White midwestern guy is not going to gain him a single additional vote. He knows that he needs a woman (And ideally, a non-puppy killer…).

Weren’t these guys all moaning about how unsafe NYC is (in reality the safest big city in America, safer than most red cities and that’s even before counting traffic fatalities which is dramatically lower in NYC due to high public transit use).

They have a bottomless supply of excuses for his behavior and the shocking progression of his dementia. The cult has dedicated its existence to him, so he can do no wrong. Porn star fucking, sexual assault, felonies galore, it’s all good. they soothe themselves by repeating the lies and projecting all his crimes onto Biden. The mental illness has settled in, and it’s truly bizarre.

These are the voters the remaining GOP is courting. This is why those who know better are just playing along. It’s more insidious than just party loyalty, it’s crass cynicism and greed. They are all trump now.

It’s good to draw attention to it for the Biden campaign, but there’s nothing illegal about it as far as I know. Trump isn’t currently a government official so there isn’t a bribery charge in play, and everyone running for office makes promises to campaign donors.

I guess there might be something illegal in campaign finance law about the size of the donation he was requesting? Anyway, that’s a technicality unless it happens.

Sounds right. Folks give Trump too much credit for deep analysis.

A significant factor in his success is not his acumen, it is that there are a lot of suckers out there or folks too naive to realize what an unscrupulous predator he is.

"Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) is expected to pay his respects to Donald Trump this morning by showing up at the courthouse where the former president is on criminal trial, joining a steady line of GOP electeds who have seen it as in their own political interest to make the pilgrimage to Manhattan.

The pathetic display of slavish devotion has a third world tinpot dictator feel to it"

Last night I called it The Abasement Tour.
Some of these people are attention seekers, or need Chump approval back in their home territory…but it has more of a coerced feel. Like Chump and Comp. put out direct statements to these pols…that if they want his endorsement they better make the trip and cater to him - Or Else.

All of this should still be blamed on the voters. However, at some point their elected oficials needed to stand up for themselves and preserve their own power. As I have stated before, Chump has never met a weaker, more pitiful pool of people until he found himself surrounded by R elected officials. These people are not imbeciles, and have a lot to lose.

His voters are mostly imbeciles and behave like they have nothing to lose.
But voters only get to speak once every 2-4 years. After they made the disastrous choice to put him in office, it has been largely the elected officials who cave and capitulate day to day. It was a bit grudgingly at first, but now they just drop drawers and grab ankles at the first sound of Chump’s footsteps. Every single one of them. Chump has never in his strife-ful life ever had to contend with such weakness. They topple over with a wave of his hand. No wonder he setup camp and took over the place (whether elected/in-office or not)

They probably can. Lots of these jokers bill their campaign for meal and travel expenses, whether or not it has anything to do with campaigning. Since the FEC has been neutered, you can get away with a lot as long as you don’t make it too obvious, a la George Santos.

But their first choice would be to bill the taxpayer to preserve their campaign cash for attack ads or a suitably laundered visit to a hooker.

I wonder if there will ever be a day when the great GOP orgy of openly associating with criminals will ever come home to roost.

Well, this Congress is certainly setting records for laziness. Thankfully the Dems have figured out how to run the show from the minority.

‘Tell God I Said Hi’

My personal favorite Trump-Mike Johnson interaction is when Johnson told Trump that he would pray for him, to which Trump reportedly replied: “Thanks, Mike. Tell God I said hi.”

The thing with Mike Johnson showing up to support Trump is that he’s also giving Trump the Evangelical Christian blessing to adultery and hush money paid to cover up said adultery. I’m not going to suggest that he’s lending God’s endorsement, because that would imply he actually does “speak for god.”

We need a score card for these Christian folks.

Gay = bad
Trans = bad
Evolution = bad
Equal rights = bad
Immigrants = bad
Adultery = OK
Lying = OK.

{Sarcasm} My kind of religion {/Sarcasm}

He isn’t a good retail politician. He’s a dude who’s extremely lucky that America is still a political meth lab.
