Microsoft has completely redesigned one of its signature email services, launching the new Outlook.com on Tuesday. But this is far from the clunky, staid corporate interface well known to Outlook users. Instead, Microsoft has imbued the new Outlook.com with elegant animations, a cleaner interface (no display advertisments whatsoever), clearly delineated sections for attachments and documents, and social features — including the ability to link one’s email account to his or her Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, even Google services (that last bit is especially interesting, given Microsoft’s open competition against Google on a number of fronts).
