This won’t be enough for the people claiming fraud. Nothing would be enough. Evidence, facts, audits do not matter when people will only accept one conclusion. They will take this as just more proof of a conspiracy, this time involving Republicans who have been subverted somehow.
What so many in media and politics fail to recognize is that the fake fraud claims are an all-in situation. People making bogus fraud claims – up to and including Trump and his minions – must be prosecuted for perpetrating a fraud on the public and fined and put in prison. They can have a reasonable opportunity to present those claims in court, but having failed to sustain them with that source of public authority, continuing to press them is no longer an exercise in free speech. It’s an attack on the duly elected government to undermine the laws and authority of that government and the valid votes of those who elected them.
I don’t see any way out as long as Trump is leading this charge but to have a court order gaging him to go along with a massive fine and reasonable prison sentence for claiming fraud he can’t even remotely prove. That might just give pause to the people who want to believe Trump anyway. Many still will, but at least there will be a strong public rebuke that will make them realize consequences of continuing to echo Trump bogus message.
Exactly what i always tell my sister-in-law. She always insists that “both sides do it.” My reply is that if that’s true, then Democrats are sooo much better at it than Republicans. Republicans can’t come close to cheating without getting caught, while Democrats always get away scot-free. Then i ask her why she pledges her allegiance to such a stupid, ignorant band of criminals, always caught red-handed in breaking the law in the service to their country.
I am absolutely certain that they can try again from a different angle and find all those votes that were cast illegally.
I am a certain as the former guy is. They just need to try harder.
This headline should read, "Michigan GOP-Led Probe Finds Big Lie to be Big Lie.
I mean why do we keep saying in response to the big lie “you have no evidence”. It sounds at best weak and at worst gives credibility or indication that there might be evidence.
We should just say to anyone who questions the results of the 2020 election “either admit unequivocally that Joe Biden won or you are a God damned liar”. (PERIOD)
I guess this meets the criteria of doing the same over and over again and expecting a different result.
It’s not the result that matters of course, it’s the allegations that keep their grievances in the news. The law and facts are against them and all they have left is pounding the table.
