Michigan AG Dana Nessel And Other Jewish Officials Targeted By ‘Heavily Armed’ Man

Confinement to a state hospital is not incarceration.

Kill the church???

The most powerful religious group in the country is the Southern Baptist Convention, which was founded to be explicitly Pro-Slavery.

Crediting the church with being against slavery - after raising money on it for hundreds of years - when every Protestant denomination has gone straight to the Old Testament any time they need to raise a mob on behalf of the rich is facetious.

[shoulda stopped right there…]

I consider it extremely unlikely that Soros has such a uniform. Or, for that matter, that Zuckerberg has any clothing at all that’s been pressed.

It’ll do until the real thing comes along.

Drive around the South. Then start asking yourself why Christian churches openly politic against their own tax-free status and are never investigated. Then go back to the Reformation and understand that the Protestant church was founded by the rich, who armed a vicious generational underclass against the middle classes in order to maintain power.

They did this by reinterpreting the foundational documents of their time. Now witness the Catholic shills on the SCOTUS do the exact same thing in real time while every white trash son of a Northern European Protestant aggrievement monkey from the Hudson to the Columbia has a gun in his fist.

Boring, naïve, and ahistorical.

One of our own Hive members, @dback1, took a terrible fall 10 feet onto a concrete floor, breaking both of his ankles, his left wrist, and his right elbow.

Fine. All the billionaire tech bros have their armbands tattooed on.

Not a lot of progressive billionaires out there.

True. But it is confinement.

Dana is a treasure here in Michigan. I was at the rally where the picture shown was taken. She gave an impassioned speech about her determination to defend a woman’s right to an abortion in this state, relaying a very moving personal story and speaking directly to the young women (mostly students) in the audience.

I’m so glad this threat was ascertained - but it’s not clear from the article if this lowlife is in detention. He should not have access to bail:

*“It is my sincere hope that the federal authorities take this offense just as seriously as my Hate Crimes & Domestic Terrorism Unit takes plots to murder elected officials.”

Meaning, I think that the Nessel managed to have most of the individuals who planned to kidnap Gov. Whitmer held without bail - and she’d like to see the same thing happen here.

That’s not how a successful insanity defense works. If it succeeds, the defendant is not guilty, and therefore does not go to prison, but instead gets sent to a state hospital for mental treatment until such time as they have recovered from their mental defect and they no longer present a danger to anyone.

If deemed not competent to stand trial, the defendant will be treated until such time as he is capable of assisting in his defense. That’s a lower standard than being discharged after a not guilty verdict.

I’m honored that you would say so.

"Because I can Legally do that, right???

In some dark and twisted reality, maybe. Forget Kansas; WTH is wrong with Michigan these days? I’m glad Wisconsin is separated from most of it by those Great Lakes. Not that Wisconsin is anywhere near free of the Republican scourge.

It’d be a lot cooler if they took on climate change.

And it’s a whole lot more comfortable than prison.

I just looked up Andrea Yates, who drowned her four children in a bathtub outside Houston 20 years ago. She still appears to be institutionalized, but it’s at a low-security state hospital in Kerrville.

John Hinkley was released from treatment in 2016, and all terms of supervision were lifted last year, but he got many unsupervised excursions from his hospital for years before that.

The manifestos were disappointingly lacking in references to the fringe on flags. Failure to invoke “admiralty law” removes 5 points from overall wingnut score.

Yeah, he doesn’t sound like he was deeply into SovCit lore, just the part where he puts himself above the government, maybe a little bit of the corporate/individual identity stuff.
