I share your sentiment, but its not really a strategy.
Only way to stop Mitch on this is to get at least 4 GOP senators to agree to block a vote. Maybe we can get one or two who would agree on principle, but to get at least four, I think will require a credible threat of expanding the Supreme Court membership from 9 to 11. So if Republicans jam through one nominee now, they will face the prospect of Biden nominating two.

I’ll say it again just to make myself feel better; Trump’s election is conclusively illegitimate in light of the foreign influence surrounding it. His appointments are fruit of a poison tree that should all be discarded as soon as possible.
If a court won’t agree to that and throw them out, there should be recall elections posthaste.

I posted the same theory, before the election vulnerable Rs would consider voting No. But I was rudely reminded the vote will be right after the election so no one is jeopardized by their vote. Our biggest danger is not working as hard as we can to get rid of donald and not compound the Rs outrageous plans for the republic.

The Democrats should have every sitting member of Congress from their party, as well as all democratic candidates running for office, sign the following pledge:
If the Republicans try to push through a nominee prior to January 20, 2021, let it be known that the newly installed Democratic majority in both houses will immediately vote to (1) drop the filibuster, and (2) add two justices to the Supreme Court.

Sadly I can’t see how the Democrats will have enough votes to abolish the filibuster. Manchin is already against abolishing. Very tough hill to climb.

Just going to repeat what I said on the other thread. This is posturing from McConnell, because he’s up for reelection along with Trump.
Of course he has to say this. But he doesn’t have time to push a nominee through a pre-election or lame duck Senate, thanks to the courage of RBG in giving us this very narrow window when the media and Congress will be focused on the election, and then leaving town for the Holiday break.

If they can expand it to 13, I’m all for it. But I think expanding by two to 11 would be a much easier sell politically. Democrats can argue that the two additional seats simply rectify the GOP misconduct with respect to Garland and Ginsburg’s replacement – increasing the court to 13 looks more like “packing the court” for partisan advantage.

Yep I just gave to Biden, McGrath (McConnell’s opponent) and Harrison (Graham’s). Hopefully lots of Dems are doing this tonight so that they can announce a large up tick tomorrow. Republicans only understand money
