McConnell, Hoyer Up Pressure On McCarthy As Greene Confrontation Approaches

I was thinking the same thing. Talking like she runs the place. More like the popular girl (because she’s mean) from middle school who gets elected to Student Council in 9th grade and is gonna tell everyone there how the job is done.

They must be so fed up with her already. But they can’t do anything because Trump loves her. I love it!

Greene is an idiot. McCarthy, well, he is an idiot too, but his mental lack is far more troubling and far more damaging to the country.

“Loony lies and conspiracy theories are cancer for the Republican Party and our country,” McConnell said.

But but but, what will be left? All they’ve got are loony lies and conspiracy theories.

That’s is an exercise in futility, there is no vise fine enough to crush molecular sized balls. And besides the guy is shameless in his cowardice.

Could not be happier with the serious disarray the Rethugs are in. They will not be able to get it together to organize and march in lock step as they have for years.

“Adding another layer of pressure, there is some reported concern among House members about punishing a member for something she did before she was elected —”

So, wishing death upon members of Congress while she was a private citizen is not a concern now that she’s a member of Congress.

Seems legit.

Judge, why did you refuse the woman’s restraining order against her husband? Look, now she’s dead!

Well, he made his death threats when they were dating, not when they were married!

I can see where you’re coming from, but there are no indications that she’s changed her point of view. The evidence may come from the past, but she still is the same destructive lunatic.

So there really isn’t a “before” here.

I love it too except the part where she endangers others’ lives and mental well-being with her gun habits, and with her uncovered piehole.

Sure he does

Trump loves only himself. She is trying to play the same game that so many others have before her, of telling him what he wants to hear. But she forgets the other two important lessons from the past 4 years: 1) ETTD and 2) Trump despises people speaking on his behalf. Notice for example she said she had a great conversation with Trump…but she didn’t actually say what they discussed. Eventually, she is going to cross that line, and since it will be about her and not him, he will lower the boom.

Sooner or later it will dawn on the slow to realize GOP House leaders loons like MTG will define their party unless they take action. The longer they delay dealing with it so much the better for Dems.

Punishments are always for past actions. I would think that allowing accountability to be thwarted by election to Congress would raise a question.

We are well past the point where it is safe to respond to right-wing anti-democratic extremism with questions or concerns.

If a prosecutor were to try indicting her now for what she did then, this would be one thing.

Whereas if voters knew what they were voting for (or against), this is another thing entirely.

So … you could say we have a problem.

As noted above, for now I see it as the Republicans’ problem — and I am happy to let McConnell, McCarthy, et al. just stew in it. Let them wrestle for a while with Q and Trump and other such insanities.

“Loony lies and conspiracy theories are cancer for the Republican Party and our country,” McConnell said Monday.

If I had the good fortune to have breakfast with Mitch I’d say “oh you mean like Trump? Wait you weren’t talking about Trump? Why was it OK when it was Trump?” over and over until he kicked me out of his house.

“A prosecutor “ is not relevant, because the proposed actions against Greene don’t include criminal charges or penalties.

The voters chose her to be their representative, and she would continue to be so if she lost her committee spots. Committee assignments weren’t on the ballot.

“The fight over how to deal with both Greene and Cheney highlights the schism rending the Republican party, as it decides whose party it wants to be.”

I have no objection to her committee assignments being taken away.

Sorry if I was unclear about this.

If the GOP leadership won’t do it, the Rules Committee can vote a resolution to the floor to do it, with a simple majority required.
