Mitch can bitch about Scott all he wants, but you can’t beat something with nothing, and certainly can’t beat Scott’s proposals with “we’ll tell you our agenda next Jan. when we are back in the majority”. That is like Zelensky trusting Putin NOT to put a Kremlin boot-licking autocrat into the Ukraine Presidency when the war is over.
The Democrats should force the GOP to disclose Mitch’s full agenda by stating that everything Scott has proposed is what the GOP will do until you here otherwise, including sunsetting Medicare and Social Security in five years. Anything else is hopelessly wishful thinking because it might be even worse.
Except that Mitch still holds the purse strings for a lot campaign cash. Skeletor is lucky he’s not up until 2025 or he might have to spend some of his own ill gotten gains if he were up this year.
Rick Scott’s great idea is to take people who are so poor that they don’t pay any income taxes on top of all the other taxes they do pay (SS, sales tax, etc) and make them even poorer - so that they will have “skin in the game”. Besides speculating that maybe Scott just needs more skin, this is the most brain dead trope and idiotic speechifying I have ever heard, These are people who already have so much “skin in the game” it is getting torn off by the wheels of commerce and profit worship every single day. Scott is one of the many businessman sociopaths that fill out the GOP these days.
