Christine Fang was up to no good. When things heated up, she skipped town and took a fast boat to China. As far as I know, she’s still there.
Like a number of other California politicians, Eric Swalwell got caught up in her machinations. She raised money for his campaigns. She was not herself a donor – this would have been illegal. She ingratiated herself, recommended an intern. When Swalwell was warned about her, he did all the right things.
Kevin McCarthy’s insipid little plan to boot Swalwell was always doomed and is not worth a second thought.

The moral and and ethical shortcomings are now a selling point for the GOP.
