Would be helpful to report who is on the House ethics committee.

an equal number of Republicans and Democrats [ethics committee] “can look at it very quickly and come to a conclusion on what Santos did or did not do.”

And what will Kevy say when the ethics committee votes 50-50?
“My hands are tied! The bipartisan ethics committee is equally split!”

What a bloody tool.

I can’t decide whether the policy ideas would set back the calendar 75 years and the old-fashioned, straight-up crime 150, or is it the other way around.

Oh, this is rich.

Lauren Boebert’s Husband Furious as He’s Served Divorce Papers

Didn’t “family values” Boebert just pull a Sarah Palin and justify her 17 year old teenager knocking up some teenage gal because Boebert also got knocked up at age 17?

Hubby appears to be a real piece of work, so she is justified, but please spare me the hypocrisy.

Once again brainless Qevin punts on making a decision that should be a no brainer.

George Santos, MTG, boobert, and Gosar. Any questions?

Such a character. Funny man.

Move Rapidly??? Sorry, McCarthy can’t get anything done until he consults with Mat Gaetz, Gym Jordan, MTG, and Boebert, and then something might be done in a year or two. Maybe even three years.

He won’t get expelled by the corrupt GOP.

McCarthy thinks that “think there’s enough information out there now that they can start looking at this. And I think they can come back to Congress probably faster than a court case” with regards to Santos? When did this revelation hit? 1PM today?

The Ethics Committee gambit is aimed at keeping Santos around longer. It’s an out for his caucus --which includes more than enough members who want Santos gone – to vote against Rep. Garcia’s privileged expulsion resolution.

I’m torn between wanting him out (qevin’s margin drops to 4 for a while) and that the dems have a better chance at picking up NY-03 in a general election in a presidential election year than they do in a special election (it’s not hopeless, just not as likely).

Why on earth wouldn’t you take a chance at vacating the seat for a few months and maybe picking it back up in a special election? Santos isn’t going to win his primary next year, so he’s not going to be on the general election ballot.

Because the district is R+2, and at least one of the two counties has an effective republican machine, and republicans tend to have better turnout in special elections. That santos/devolder will get primaried is irrelevant. The best odds shot at retaking the seat is in a 2024 general election.

But whoever win the special will have to run again in ‘24 anyway. Seems unlikely that someone would get a huge incumbent advantage from one year. Pelosi made sure to give vulnerable incumbents something to brag about but I don’t think Kevin is that deft

It is D+2.

Again, Santos isn’t going to win that primary. So the best chance of retaking the seat in 2024 is probably having another dipshit MAGA candidate winning the 2023 special election primary. If that person wins the whole low-turnout special election, great, he’ll be a shitty '24 general election candidate. If the Dem wins the whole low-turnout special election, great, that person will probably be a favorite to win in '24.
