In Norway, where Kucirkova lives, the government has seriously curtailed the use of A.I. in the country’s schools. Reuters reports that before the age of 13, A.I. should barely be used in Norway; from 14 to 16, students “can cautiously adopt tools under teachers’ supervision”; and from 17 to 19, students should “learn to use A.I. appropriately so that they are prepared for further education and work.”
This seems like a wise middle ground, but parents need to be able to have faith that the approved tools are quality ones. Kucirkova emphasized that Norway is a much more homogeneous and high-trust country than the United States.
