For the coin toss, the league trotted out its honorary captains, all Pat Tillman Scholars.
However, there was a part of me who got excited about just how much the viewers who hated the Lift Every voice and Sing were going to hate this particular collection of scholars.

So had to share. My nephew had bought squares for the game and he had 2 (AFC) and 5 (NFC) in the fourth qtr. Well at 35-35 and the Chiefs driving he was getting pretty excited to claim his $500 winnings. Up to the point where the Chiefs running back who broke free with about a minute left in the game and proceeded to drop to the ground at the 2 yard line instead of scoring so they could not only kill the time left on the clock but kick the winning field goal. He was a bit pissed.

I don’t always get to read up on a lot of sporting coverage but I do check out Deadspin in the evenings. When I saw the honorary Pat Tillman ceremony at last nights Super Bowl I thought back to how he was appropriated, or really misappropriated by the W Bush administration many people on the right. Ann Coulter was practically organismic over him.

I opened up my email this morning and saw a headline at a certain newspaper: “Shoot-down questions pile up for Biden”
I deleted that sucker immediately. I guess they have nothing else to talk about now that the Super Bowl is over.

Still not sure whether the “friendly fire” was an accident or deliberate (with enough plausible deniability)… I did think it was jarring the way they are lionizing him.

If real aliens ever showed up, the implied technological gap wouldn’t be like the Polynesians sighting British sails on the horizon. It would be more like me sitting down at a picnic table to eat lunch and spotting some ants eyeing the food. So yeah, I guess there’s no point in worrying about it. We know what will happen.

Yes, Biden is taking steps, not promising that DeJoy is going to be out by a specific deadline. As others have said, the process is going to take a lot of time.
