Trump always goes after the weakest target in the room. Since the Senate Democrats are proving unexpectedly firm, he’s lashing out at Senate Republicans. There’s no greater theory there, just the lion eyeing up the easiest meal.

I have what I think is an important point about the filibuster, why the best thing Republicans and Trump could do would be to kill it, but first in Chicago, ICE just pulled a teacher who was here legally and licensed to work, out of daycare center where she was teaching mostly Hispanic children English. Last week it was busboy and a cook from different restaurants. Before that it was a police officer from one of the near suburbs.
Ice is finding these people because they are here legally and registered to work. What Trump is doing is having their legal status and licenses to work revoked and then nabbing them where they work.
Last week I had arguments with several Repugs about Illinois Governor pleading with ICE to leave Trick or Treaters alone and not throw teargas near them to which Kristi Noem of course had to say back to Pritzker basically “fuck you”.
I still can’t get over the evil and for lack of a better word assholeyness of sending masked ICE agents with teargas to go after people where children are engaging in the America tradition of Halloween.
But why in my opinion it would be great for Democrats if Republicans end the filibuster.
The filibuster is used for different reasons by Democrats and Republicans. Democrats use the filibuster to keep Republicans from doing some really bad and stupid things the Republican base wants them to do. That is Democrats using the filibuster actually helps Republicans. Without the filibuster, Republicans to save their own skin would have to be less reckless.
Whereas Republicans use the filibuster to keep Democrats from governing. As the Party of government, this is devastating for Democrats and prevents them doing what Democrats promise to do.
Therefore in my view to end the filibuster is a win win for Democrats and a lose lose for Republicans. Without the filibuster Democrats when in power could govern and get stuff done and at least some Republicans would need stop being such assholes when they are in power or pay the consequences for what their base wants becoming law.

Ramaswamy didn’t come close to getting it right; he should have stopped after Cut out the identity politics. Everything after that was an absolute lie. Of course, lying is what suits Republicans, ever since Nixon and getting worse and more pervasive every year. With that being what one would-be-prominent Republican has to say, I have no expectations of a kumbaya Congress or upcoming elections being based on facts or policies. In other words, both will feature piles of promises and statements, but will factually be nothing but more of the same stale merde.

After the price of gas drop by 1500%, the station near me would be PAYING ME almost $18 a gallon.

Maybe Republicans noticed that it’s not just that over half of New Yorkers voted for Mamdani, an anti-Trump Democrat who emphasized affordability issues; it’s that over 90% of New Yorkers voted for Mamdani or Cuomo, two very different anti-Trump Democrats who both emphasized affordability issues.

I am kind of curious what support facilities are going to be needed. If that rendering is for a large dinner, that implies a hell of a kitchen, beverage services, storage, refrigeration, HVAC, custodian services, areas for personnel and management, catering prep areas, loading docks as well as bathrooms and cloak rooms and so on and so on and so on.
