Lindsey Graham And The Echoes Of Fascism

OMG    This should be fun

BREAKING: Alex Jones claims Trump called him & his team reached out to him after he set an ultimatum. Trump is proud of the shot, Trump is the vaccine man & Trump wants people to stop questioning it.

Interesting! What do you think? pic.twitter.com/cMzdpvJlWN

It’s Official: Trump is the vaccine man. He’s proud of the vaccine. He’s happy with it. It’s his vaccine. He wants his base to know he rushed it to the public, not Fauci.

Give him credit! The father of the vaccine wants his credit. Don’t deny him.

There is a disaster movie, 2012, about some highly improbable tectonic behavior. Yet a thousand years from now, it may be a marker date for when normalcy of the current arrangement ended. Russia dumped the neoliberals. The US held its last normal presidential election. China still thought building giant dams was a good idea. We live in a new era. I’m not sure if Lindsey Graham has jumped the shark, but I still feel sorry for the shark.

So Ornato gets a new boss and decides to retire. Could be the new boss had too many pesky questions about how Murray and Ornato ran the USSS as the “muscle” for Trump from 2017 onward. Now Two-Bit Tony can hire a good defense attorney and claim private citizen status. Harder to plead the fifth as a civil servant.

Lindsey Graham better watch it: stoking Christo-fascism is in this case as bizarre as “Jews for Hitler.” Once the Christo-fascists get completely in the drivers seat, they will violently suppress gays.

Edit: Miss Lindsey should also explain the $$$ he gets from Oleg Deripaska.

The Republicans are hoping that they can spread fear among the Democrats that will push them to behave as they have in the past, which is to look at the larger picture and try to help the Nation and its citizens as a whole and to back down. They will weaponize this approach and claim to their base through the right-wing media (Fox) that it is the Democrats who are hurting this country and not moving on. This is from the Party of Law and Order? Screw them.

What is important is to follow the rule of law, use all legal means to obtain all of the evidence, and to apply the law to whomever was involved, regardless of their position. We should accept the fact that there are no longer honorable political opponents in the Republican Party, but instead view it for what is has been for quite some time, a corrupt dying organization whose methods to remain in power are a threat to this Nation. I remember the public discussions saying that Watergate investigations involving Nixon and his gang’s efforts to stave off any appropriate investigation of their illegal acts would breakup this country. The same here, but on steroids (see Senator Graham’s words). This country will survive, but we need to clean house. It will be very messy as the Republican’s intrenched positions allows them to punch well above their weight class. But we need to take them on now for the future.

We need to stay the course and hold all of those involved in the insurrection and efforts to prevent voting/change voting results legally accountable. If that damages this Nation in the short term in the view of outsiders, I predict it will strengthen us long-term as we are a Nation of Laws. What binds us together in this country is just that as our backgrounds (we are all immigrants at one time or another over the past set of centuries) are quite diverse and in many instances opposing. We benefit and gain strength as a group because we all agree to follow these laws that are meant to protect us and allow each of us to pursue our lives. If we ignore these laws, what are we?

The Republican Party is simply no longer silent in their desire (and so appears the current SCOTUS majority) to abrogate rights for women, non-white citizens, and others who are not what they deem appropriate for their own warped quasi-religious, pathological reasons. That is why we need to take the legal fight on now and show this country that if you break the rules, you suffer the consequences. The price is simply too high to do nothing or to back down. While we do need to be concerned about our institutions and how we will operate in the future, it is precisely those reasons why we need to ignore the threats and follow through on public investigations. If we don’t, we will enter a dark period in our history. Trump is neither a god nor a dictator, but a common criminal. He survives by threats, bluffs, and illegal acts. Enough. Stop treating him with kid gloves, and hold him and his fellow politicians responsible for their acts.

As for moderate commentators, their claims that we have to be careful owing to the delicate nature of the situation, etc. is bollocks (sounds more polite than bullshit). These enablers just want to stay relevant and in power so they can make money. They realize their voice and its accompanying authority will be worthless if the Republicans lose power as they have been shills for too long. Too bad, ‘times they are a-changin’.

For those who may be interested in a more nuanced discussion, see:

Let’s follow the data and then justly apply our laws. I’m personally pissed-off. Time to push back and take constructive actions. Our future demands it - civics 101.

I think the days of just sitting back and ignoring the Right are over.

If nothing else, what’s happened since Dobbs is an indicator that we aren’t gonna take it anymore.

It’s hard to characterize Linsey. Is he a flaming anarchist or a flaming fascist?

If Lindsey is gay he’s already been violently suppressing himself his whole life.

When Jessie Helms threatened Clinton, saying he should stay away from military bases in the South, he got the Secret Service. Of course things are different now and the USSS (or SS) is compromised.

Guys like Carlson have occasionally tied to pose, not as champions of Putin, but as Paleocons who on America First principles don’t like the idea of the US stoking foreign wars. But statements like that are pretty much an open admission he is a Kremlin cheerleader.

Um, that’s what they do. (See also any number of men of the cloth who have the same problem).

They’ve also violently suppressed any inclination to respect their oaths of office about upholding the Constitution.
