Liberal Candidate Wins Wisconsin Supreme Court Race, A Significant Victory For Abortion Rights

The Dems need to be creative about tapping into the silent progressive majority, especially with young women and the abortion issue. They need to have a ballot measure, in every single red state, and replicate what was done in Kansas. This would do double duty as a ‘get out the vote’ tactic.

Long day for an old man. Maybe they should have improvised a quick runway rope line with the plane as a backdrop, and done the ballroom ramble tomorrow.

Republicans may try it, but I think that politically it would backfire spectacularly! Protasiewicz is running away with it; it would be easy to frame this as sore loser crying.

Trump suffers ?
Humiliations galore !
That is a noble cause.

Knodl is up by 700 votes with 90% in.

Yow.

Could be, but I know they’ve had Evers in their sights for a few months, even in the absence of, you know, coherent and compelling reasons.

Folks, keep your fingers crossed for Ms. Habush Sinykin. We do not want the party of Uihlein, Bradley et al to have a supermajority,

ETA - I exclude Lynde Uihlein from my rogue’s gallery. I gather she’d be at home here.

Oh goddamn this is such good news.

Pretty good chance Biden has just won WI in the 2024 POTUS. Along with PA and MI, that will make very hard to beat Biden in the EC. Good news for modern man !!

Keep breathing! Much of the outstanding vote is in Milwaukee County which is Habush Sinykin’s best turf.

Sorry, OT: that awful Shorewood spitter lived and spat in Shorewood but did her bidness in Mequon. Not that that’s at all relevant to your point - I just wanted to raise notice of her again.

On, Wisconsin! This should serve as an example for others to follow in their states.

Forward, and ON WISCONSIN!

@becca656 and @Scoutmom – YOU DID IT! And Becca – what a way to end your Wisconsin voting history. I’m proud of this old state, rising from the ashpiles left by Tommy Thomson, Robin Vos and Scooter Boy. May they be welcome in the Hells of Maggots, not in Wisconsin.

It ain’t over yet. Looks like the State Senate will have a GQP supermajority and they have already announced a plan to impeach Janet.

My work here is done. I have done what I can. Time to head east.

Her opponent is a real sack of shit, it seems.

Yes, and denied a second time for a seat on the bench.

I wondered if the dark, scary campaign would win it for Kelly, like it did for Johnson.

Not this time.

One more thing: I don’t think Janet takes her seat until August. If I recall, it is a long time between winning the seat and taking the seat.

Leaves the door open for a lot of chicanery between now and seating.

So great! Who cares about the Trump show. See the whole board.

Indeed. A hat trick would have been nice, though.

“That’s not what you’re supposed to do because you’ve already decided how you’re gonna vote,” Rep. Derrick Van Orden (R-WI).

Rep Orden is obviously mistaken, as ALL elections are political these days, even supreme court justices, as we ALL know. About time Dems fought back using Repub tactics.
Congratulations to all Cheeseheads.
