That was my original hope, too. But, then, they’d file the refusal under seal and it’s highly unlikely it’d be contested.
This was an actual appeal, so I take it there was some institutional prerogative they’re looking to protect.
Unfortunate, that. It strikes me as the kind of investigation that should proceed.

No. Richard Marx tweeted that if he ever met Rand’s neighbor he would buy him as many drinks as he can hold. I would happily do the same thing.

I would like to think the same, but I have seen the system and I am not impressed when it comes to holding the politically powerful accountable. Trump, the GOP, and their followers must politically be held accountable. There has to be daylight.

Hard to tell. Most all threats are RW based. We are awash in them. I hate to think if there is a LW threat that it gets trumpeted, as 1 vs 10,000 and becomes another false equivalent. There are politicians all over the country leaving office and even moving out of state due to threats, that as far as I can tell, aren’t even being tracked down let alone prosecuted.

I read just yesterday how many democratic officials are paying for extra security out of their own pockets because of the extraordinary numbers of threats coming from the Republican base. No doubt Rand Paul will issue a comment on this shortly.
