This is not new for the Republicans. During negotiations over the ACA, they kept insisting on changes that the Democrats did not like but adopted in order to provide healthcare for American citizens. Then the Republicans did not vote for the bill that was crafted in response to their demands. At some point, we will learn that this crop of post-Bush Republicans have no honor and their word cannot be trusted. On anything.

Off Topic - Senator Alex Padilla - California Democrat - helped a constituent who has cancer. His cousin in the Philippines was twice denied permission by the State Department to come to California to donate stem cells which have a good chance of saving his cousin’s life. He was able to cut through the bureaucracy so the. cousin could fly to California.

MAGA senators may not do such a deed for a constituent. Too bad there aren’t more senators who are interested in putting constituents’ needs before those who contribute to their election campaigns.

Border security, sanctity of life, balanced budget, family values — these are just catch-phrases cynically designed for maximum emotional impact.

If Democrats don’t beat Republicans to a pulp for the hypocritical flip-flop on the border issue they will be guilty of political malpractice.
