The Repubs have blocked appointments, and slowed others.

The threadbare 50-50 majority also meant that committees had an even number of Democrats and Republicans, requiring attendance from the GOP to move forward on nominees and forcing Democrats to take procedural additional steps on the Senate floor if a committee deadlocked on a nomination. If Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-Ga.) keeps his seat in Georgia, Democrats will be able to move nominees out of committee with a majority.
“There’s a big difference between a 50-50 Senate and a 51-49 Senate for the functionality of the Judiciary Committee and the Foreign Relations Committee,” said Sen. Chris Coons (D-Del.). “Simply having control of the Senate means we have the ability to continue moving forward the personnel who will represent us and shape our laws.”

Apropos of nothing, that is one unflattering photo of Sen Sinema. Her dress is so tight, you can see her navel! (How strange is that?) That said, there are no flattering photos of several of the GOP men, Sen. McConnell being the poster child (as it were.) Sen. Cruz’s beard looked cool at first, but has settled in to adopt his personality, and clearly (fails to) disguise his weak chin(s).

My point was: 1968 (complete with the assassinations), 2000, and 2016 are all election years where the Democrat - Hubert Humphrey, Al Gore and Hillary Clinton would have won were it not for you-know-who. But not 1980.

Sinema is the first bisexual member of the Senate, so it’s only fitting she doesn’t want to align with one particular party. She’s having more fun in the sack, why not in her personal politics.
