To be a politician is to discard any notions one may have had of right and wrong, truth or lies, or personal honor. You must be able to bullshit the crowd you are with to get their vote. Lying is in the DNA. Reality is not objective, it’s what you say it is. And reelection trumps everything else. Run to the nearest camera and blather the issue of the day. Look to one’s self before looking to the needs of the many. If you can do these things you will be successful. If you are honest and speak the truth you will be shunned like the undead and your political career will be very very short but deeply appreciated by a small number of folks.
