Kemp Will Run Against Dem-Turned-GOPer Who Peddled Trump’s Falsehoods | Talking Points Memo

Jones has echoed Trump’s bogus claims of a “stolen” election in the battleground state, calling Georgia’s 2020 presidential election results “fixed” and tainted.”

Seriously. Has this guy gone off his meds? Seriously!

Yeah, quite. A Southern Cracker who is into voter suppression vs a nouveau Republican reactionary dilettante. Might provide a really good opening for Stacy. Go get 'em girl!

Maybe, maybe not

If Trump is backing him, who knows what happens?

If it weren’t for Brian Kemp, Donald Trump would still be President of these United States.

During the Republican convention I heard Jones interviewed on the Brian Lehrer show here in New York. He went on claiming that there were 25 million Black babies being aborted every year as well as other specious claims. The interviewer, Lehrer a long time, well respected revered host here in New York was taken back by him. You could tell in his voice “oh why was he even booked”.

One of the things I’ve had to unlearn is that being peevish and irritable all the time will make you unpopular. I see there’s a large segment of the population that seems to be fine with it. If they had to sit next to such a person on a long plane ride they might find it to be too much of a good thing but at least in their Congresspersons it seems to be no problemo. Jordan sounds like he’s yelling everything through a kazoo but he got the votes, didn’t he? Puzzling.

Vernon Jones is about to learn that no matter how much loves he professes to Trump and how much hates himself, white Republicans are not going to vote for him.

The Republican Primary may turn into a contest of who loves Trump more- the guy who believes everything Trump says, or the guy who signed the election law that Trump loves. Either way, it is going to induce some vomiting.

As long as the “senator” in question is dissing or “owning” the libs, the low-information voters (read that as stupid racists) will be happy.

Low information voters who only pay attention to one “news” outlet: Fox “News.” Fox and its “commentators” (Carlson, Hannity, Ingraham, Pirro, Kudlow) are lower than whale shit. And you can get any lower than that.

I watched the tail end of Kudlow interviewing Steven Miller recently. Kudlow called Miller all sorts of wonderful things, including “best of the best.” Miller was beaming. Next up was Rob Johnson, apparently ready to help distract people from the fact that the infrastructure bill is a jobs bill.

I’m not sure if Jones realizes that statement alone could potentially motivate a lot of GA Dems and Indies to vote D. So, thank you Mr. Jones for the free incentive. Whether it will motivate enough GA Rethugs is a different story.

Obviously a math major in college.

I put it down to a general decrease of civility in the GOP “base.” Not really that surprising after Trump.

I agree. Wondering about Collins - does this signal a race against Warnock?

Yes, the inmates are running the asylum now. This “Stop the Steal” nonsense needs to be done with.

True, but let the ball busting begin anyway. Making life difficult for Kemp is always a plus.

I’d never heard of Jones until he spoke at the RNC last year, amid much fanfare that he was supposedly a Democrat. But if you look at his record over the years, it’s clear that “Democrat” was the label he found most useful in getting elected, and there’s very little D in his ideology – which has been consistently to serve his own personal interests. His history both in and out of office is a long string of skeevy behavior. He will fit very well in Trumpworld, that embraces shouting and disruption over policy and consistency.
